Hello to all...

I would like to see some responses to an imaginary scenario that I was talking about recently...it goes like this...

A few years in the future and there is not enough food and water resources for the population ...so the world governments come to the decision to suspend all hospital admissions ...and all emergency and armed services, except for prisons for 48 hours....all heads of state and their governments and the prisons and hospitals, are heavily protected so can't be attacked...
The governments are hoping that the situation that follows will cause enough of the population to be killed by accident or murder that the population will equal the resources left..

So for 48 hours there is no law ...no help...no consequences, and you cannot be held responsible for anything ..What happens...

Do nice people turn bad..?..or just go to work...?..Do gangs rule..?
Do the bad get worse..??..or take over?....

Wow. It seems strange that the convicts would be protected at the expense of those who pay the bills for their incarceration, but since it is already happening, I guess it isn't all that far fetched.

If we knew this was coming with advance notice, we could petition the world leaders to release the convicts in the prisons. This would put us on a level playing field with them by causing them to have to compete for the resources they used to have handed to them. Since they have been out of circulation, they would likely be unable to secure enough weapons to have a great deal of power over those who have been smart enough to keep firearms for personal protection. If the government really wanted to help, it could put a price on the heads of all prisoners killed during the 48 hours. This way, not only would innocent people be victimized by anarchists and convicts, the warriors amongst us could make good use of the time to rid ourselves of the scum once and for all. There would be no accountability, and those pansies in prison would have to root hog or die like the rest of us. Those convicts that weren't killed during the 48hours could be rounded up, and either put to death or re-incarcerated depending on the circumstances of their previous convictions. Plenty of people would die on both sides, which would give great peace of mind to the idiots who caused such a fiasco.

If the convicts weren't released, I would simply hole up with my family and friends so that we could protect ourselves from attack for 48 hours. We would share our resources for that time, and use deadly force as necessary to avoid being killed and raped by the anarchists. Water would be the most important resource, but medical supplies, and food would also be necessary. Depending on the time of year, heat or cold could also be a problem. But, for 48 hrs, chance of survival is above average for those with average intelligence.

I agree...Gun owners would have a big advantage...

But My argument is that if you supply the environment, then the criminals amongst us will emerge....Like the Prison experiment that went wrong...When all the guards went power mad...
Any society gets the criminals that it creates....Like the crims actually are an element necessary in society....They are humans that don't conform....Could there ever be a society where every person conforms to every social norm?

..Could people survive without saying..Thats mine and you can't have it.??

All a crim does is bypass the system of ownership (not in cases of murder) Why buy something when he can steal yours....

I think that it is only the fear of consequences that is keeping a lot of criminal minds in check....
Someone once said that 99% of the population is only 3 paychecks from serious rioting....

In the scenario I had the convicts shut in prisons....Because I think other criminals would emerge from the population...I think people with grudges would take revenge....The streets would be dangerous places..But you could not go out anywhere and protect your house too...I think the petty crims would engage in widespread looting.

Hindsight is 20/20. I knew there would be a psychological reason for the protection of the inmates at the expense of the population. I just didn't see where you were going. A nice exercise. I guess I overlooked the obvious, because anarchy would definitely take place for 48 hours.

I know that you are dubious of "God" and things of that nature, but according to Christian beliefs, there will come a time when your scenario will not be so far fetched. According to the bible, the Holy Spirit is the restraining influence for "good" in our world. When God removes the influence of the Holy Spirit during a time known as the "great tribulation", anarchy will be the rule of the day. There will be nothing to restrain evil, so evil will prevail for a period of seven years. People who have turned to Christianity during this time will be martyred when discovered.

It's interesting that the responses so far have focused on protecting ourselves physically. I do agree with it...however if I were one of the people to turn bad, hypothetically speaking, I would not touch anyone. Instead, I would touch their property (while they are snugly tucked into their basements), I would touch banks, I would touch jewelry stores, etc. Hell, I would even break into bakeries and grocery stores...since there are no consequences, I might as well have free bread for a week!!

What I'm trying to say is that there are many many worse things that could happen to us these days.... yes death is one of the worst and it is very much final. But how would people live without life savings, with their business' being vulgarized, their property stolen, their bank accounts and stocks compromised??? I think some people would pray for death if millions were stolen or investments re-routed elsewhere. I wonder how Mr. Trump would feel if I took over his penthouse suite in the Trump tower??

If you are living in the areas where they where hit by earthquakes and floods and all the tragedies happening as of today, you would be in that situation almost similar to what you are talking of already....But not thought-up by man...That is (If )what I say is true? Think about that for awhile.
We are though close!

It is going to get worse before it will get better.

The world is going through global warming,we know some of it is done from our own doing,
but I have also heard it is from the ground and volcanoes and earthquakes opening the underground which is letting gases into the atmosphere.
Radon well sure our own earth has radiation from the sun and the ground has radon,
but I also heard we get that from leaking nuclear underground dumps and old nuclear facilities.Just think about what happened with that one nuke facility a while ago..Come on folks! You really don't think what happened there, put some stuff out in the air that we where never told about?
I hear the earth is not round,but oval now.Well! A few years back I read that our government was going to send a rocket out to move a asteroid past the earth so close to move our earth out of it's path so that we change the world's weather ect. HMMMM!..Did we not have a comet or asteroid that bounced off our earths atmosphere a few years back..and they did not say much about it until it was noticed by us..Not even the government or the military saw that thing heading our way with all thier high tech radar ect?What are we paying our hard earned taxes for, toys for them to play with?
OK! What about our water pollution?
Well! If they are sending pellets from a plane that changes the weather to what they want and when they want it...I wonder what those contrails are doing to us and our environment?
Oh yes how about all the electrical stuff we are getting?it is known that that can make people sick and it hurts our animals such as our cows which in turn is screwing up possibly even the bee's.

I guess what I am saying is and this is not all I would say by no means...They all ready are messing with human life and we are slowly dieing off.
and that is not all the things they hide, but I won't go into that one ..That is a different whole subject.
Right now it's all for one actually....

It might end up the Old West again someday,how-ever I prefer getting bunker-erd down for the 48 hours like a fasting would not hurt anyone and get some water..lock the doors and windows hide your important papers...bring a gun maybe and Oh yes! Call in sick with a flue!? Stay way far away from town and keep a bottle of aspirin and a stiff bottle for a fast drink or use if you get cut....If all else don't work pray like hell!;)

There is a INTERNET virus right now called the storm viress..It is literally taking over all computers crossed the USA and the world.This virus will eventually, if not already has attached silently in your computer system. There is no way to stop it...Unless of course it has been figured out.Almost every computer is hooked somehow to the internet..If this virus decides to do the stuff it is meant to do..So Far (No one knows why it is taking control of computers! ) We will literally be taken out!Think about everything that we do and what is ran by on line computers.I think that could be the day you are talking about...I just hope it won't do something to any building with nuclear power or maybe even take over one of our space satellites or military armed mobles,jets or boats.Just think about that... Who knows what a virus could do with that type of power control.

Take the word computer with a certain math number system...and it adds up to 666!
And use one and then you are marked with the # 666.... The sign of the beast.
The Bible say's if you do not have a computer
(It doe say that, but in another way..means the same though!)
..you will not be able to Buy,Sell,or Recieve which in turn means, you won't live either.
