Hello All,
Here's another update on Roxanne Paltauf Missing since 7-7-06

I received a email from a student at UT on Friday
Below is some of what he wrote......................

Dear Ms. Harris,

I am a graduate film student at the University of Texas at Austin.
With your participation, we could make a short documentary about your
missing daughter. My highest hope is that it would lead to the safe
recovery of your daughter

Well, I met with him, Andy,
Nice young man.....
We went over details on how this would be done and we , Our family, have agreed to do this....
He has 3 months to complete it
It is a class assignment
In the end it will be a short 10 minute documentary about our Roxanne,
The who, what ,when, why, and how on the disappearance on Roxanne

Who knows what this could leads to........., hopefully Answers

I believe whole hearted that God bring people and situations in our lives to helps get through difficult time, and now he has sent another blessing our way
another chance to keep the light shinning on Roxanne, who is the shinning light in our hearts....
There's not a second of the day that she is not on my mind, in my thought, and in my prayers,

I also want to say thank you all of you who continue to pray for Roxanne, and your sweet comments Regarding Roxanne,
I know sometimes I don't respond back, but I do Read them all, IT just hard at times
It hard not knowing the next step I should take to find her....., but here we go again on a new mission.......

Thanks everyone and God Bless
Elizabeth Harris and family

Good Morning,

This is to inform you that your missing loved one has been chosen as one of 21 missing persons featured in the annual Interstate Directory.

Target Media Partner's annual Interstate Directory features state maps detailing useful information for truckers and other travelers along the interstate system including contact numbers and websites for weather and road conditions, state trucking associations, motor carrier offices, speed limits, a listing of all truck stops, and much more. This full size color publication can be found at over 2,500 truck stops nationwide, and is free.

Target Media Partners works in conjunction with Project Jason and our 18 Wheel Angel poster distribution program to help bring awareness for missing persons.

Your missing loved one's listing is in full color and is sized to fit on 1/3 of the 8.5x11 page. It includes 1-2 photos, the physical and other descriptive data, a link to our 18 Wheel Angels webpage to encourage poster placement, and of course , LE contact information. If you paid for this ad space on your own, it would have cost you well over $1,000. The total value of the space donated by Target Media Partners in this year's edition is more than $10,000!

If you would like to pick up several copies of the Interstate Directory, check with your local truck stops and inquire if they carry it. The Interstate Directory is available at Flying J, Wilco, AmBest, Pilot Travel Centers, Travel Centers of America and other locations. Remember that this publication will not be found with the for-purchase magazines, but in a special display along with other trucking magazines. At some truck stops, these displays are right outide the main entrance in a protected unit. If you can't locate one nearby, call Target Media Partners at 800-240-2130. Let them know you are the family of the one of the featured missing persons and ask for nearby locations. If there are none, they will be glad to mail you a copy.

If you would, please take a moment to write to Target Media Partners and thank them for their generosity. The email address is: CherylS@TargetMediaPartners.com

History of the 18 Wheel Angels

On June 13, 2001, my son Jason disappeared from the driveway of our Omaha , NE home without a trace. At that time, my family and I became painfully aware that there are very few services for the families of missing people, and especially missing adults. We founded Project Jason, a 501 c 3 nonprofit organization, to create and increase public awareness of missing people through a variety of outreach and educational activities.

Almost immediately after Jason’s disappearance, I started to hear from kind people all over the country and despite not knowing us personally; they offered to help by putting up posters of our son. Many of those wonderful people were truck drivers and my husband and I were very moved by their generosity and compassion. Each time we were feeling low because of our circumstances, we would hear from one of these “angels” and it would lift our spirits and keep us going.

With a small organization like ours, we have little money to spend. Therefore, we must be innovative and find ways to make the most impact for the least amount of money. One night, I was driving down the road, trying to think of something we could do for a low cost that could be effective. I remembered the kindness of many truckers in offering to spread the word about missing people. As a result, the 18 Wheel Angels program sprang to life. It was natural that we would use the word “angels” in the name of the program as we considered the source of our blessings, the compassionate 18-Wheelers who came to our aid.

This program is not donation based but “people” based in the sense that we need drivers – the very people that are the “eyes and ears” of the United States – to help.

It is estimated that in the United States alone, an astounding 2,300 Americans are reported missing every day, including both adults and children. You have a unique opportunity as you distribute the campaign posters along your route to help thousands of people everyday as awareness is everything in a missing person’s case!

Beginning in November, we’ll feature one new missing person each week, thanks to the generosity of Target Media Partners. Target Media Partners publishes photos and information about two different campaigns/missing persons each in their publications, Through the Gears and Independent Contractor.

Also, we may have the opportunity to speak with the local media in your area regarding the “18 Wheel Angels” program. If you are a participating driver and are willing to speak to the media about this program, please let us know. It only takes a few minutes and the media exposure for these families mean everything! As a parent of a missing person myself, I know just how important every possible bit of public exposure is for a case.

Awareness of missing persons is a key to resolution. These families need your help. Please try to put yourself in their place for a moment and help us bring home our missing loved ones! Thank you.

Sincerely,

Kelly Jolkowski

Project Jason

To Family Members and Friends of the Missing,

Monday, November 5th, 2007, might be remembered by those involved in the missing persons cause as a day in which a huge step backwards was taken.

Unless something major breaks in the way of funding, this will be the day in which the National Center for Missing Adults (NCMA) will close their doors. Thousands of families will be affected, now and in the future.

Why is this happening?

The answer is complex, but in summary:

· The NCMA stepped up and assisted over 13,000 victims of Hurricane Katrina and was to be reimbursed for those expenditures, which were close to $250,000. At this time, the NCMA has only received $50,000 to cover the work they did at the request of the Dept. of Justice.

· The 2007 re-authorization of Kristen’s Law, (HR 423) which would provide the NCMA with up to $4 million per year in funding for 10 years, continues to remain in the Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, and Homeland Security committee, with no action taken to help the center. This re-authorization effort has been in the works unsuccessfully since 2005.

· As experienced not only by the NCMA, but by other national organizations, including ours, the public does not generally consider missing adults’ assistance nonprofits as a part of their charitable giving plans. Corporations are also hesitant to provide funding, and grant makers don’t seem responsive, either. This lack of support has also contributed to the problem.

What will save the NCMA at this late hour?

If an “angel” company or person comes forward who can help keep the center operating until the Kristen’s Law Re-authorization funds are released.

AND/OR

The DOJ immediately releases the funds owed to the NCMA from their work related to Hurricane Katrina.

What Can I Do?

I spent time talking with Kym Pasqualini, founder of the NCMA, late last night, and based upon the conversation, this is what she asks of you if you feel moved to help with a final effort.

· Kym feels that, out of all the national media, the person who could best help with exposure and a push for action is Larry King of CNN’s Larry King Live Show. She says that Larry’s show is watched by many members of congress and that he is not afraid to step on toes to get something accomplished. If she could get a spot on his show as soon as possible, she plans to talk candidly about the situation.

If you can help with this step, please write to Larry King at larrykinglive@cnn.com and ask him to have Kym on as a guest immediately. Keep in mind that even if a spot on the show is not successful at moving congress or getting the Katrina reimbursement, it could reach the “angel” company or person as mentioned above.

· Contact Peter D. Keisler, acting Attorney General, and let him know how you feel about missing adults losing their national clearinghouse and resource. Mention the 2007 re-authorization of Kristen’s Law, (HR 423) You can also write to Vice President Dick Cheney at vice_president@whitehouse.gov The White House fax is 202-456-2461. Use AskDOJ@usdoj.gov to send correspondence to the Attorney General’s office.

· The webpage for the Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, and Homeland Security is http://judiciary.house.gov/committeestructure.aspx?committee=6 Once there, click on the names of the various members and be redirected to their own websites with contact information. You can also write to your congressman.

Time is quickly running out for this year’s session, so please send your letters right away.

No matter what happens, we need to find a way to gain more support from the general public for our missing persons’ assistance organizations. We cannot allow the continued disintegration of all we have worked so hard for in the past few years.

Not only would the loss of the NCMA represent less support for families of the missing, but it also means that another avenue of training for law enforcement is gone. (When fully funded, the NCMA had assisted with providing specialized missing adults investigative training through the excellent Fox Valley Technical College .)

I know I have asked much of you, so if you can only do one thing suggested in this letter, write to Larry King and ask him to have Kym on as a guest right away.

Remember when the NCMA was there for you? Now you can be there for them.

If we do not try, then we will never succeed. If we do try, then we have a chance.

There is always hope.

Reagen Advertising has been such a help in keeping Roxanne face and info out there for the whole city of Austin to see and hopefully help us find her
Its in a great place now, you can see from all locations
Thank you Coy West and Reagan Advertising

Hi Liz

I hope you and your family are doing well. I hope you had a good holiday break.

In honor of Roxanne’s birthday, I requested to have her billboard to a more high-profile location on IH-35.

The new location is IH-35 at 51st street on the west side (southbound side) of IH-35. It captures traffic heading south.

As before, we will leave the billboard there until either the space sells or we find a new location.

Thanks. Talk to you soon!

I hate to say this..But what I read in one article police found anther body, it was not this gals and that makes two. Does anyone here find it very odd...Renee Fox ( deceased)and Roxanne missing and what I wrote on the new site of other gals missing all around the same years and very closely..This is not a good sign and it sounds like serial killer stuff...Especially when the dude who sent that card made it clear about unsolved disappearances.I just have real bad feelings about this one also and my in-stinks are just about always right.R in the first name of both...Her last name is not that of an animals name, but if you notice there is the (Two's )thing going on in her first name, almost exactly like the others, which means if this is what I think the dude moves around a lot.Makes sence if he wants to keep the cops/detectives off the trail.
Maybe this dude might be someone who travels and does stops in area..but also he must stay for lenghts of time enough to find his next victume.Construction worker maybe....When a person was murdered in our neck of our woods...This was a hit and run though...If I am remembering this correctley. Lots of people figured that dude could have been a construction worker, maybe that of highway type work. They most of the time will end up hanging around in a town and have long stay overs.

Just a thought and only my opinion.

Just a thought and only my opinion. These two girls did not go missing in the same area. . . am I missing something??? Also, since Roxanne is still missing, we don't know it there are any simularities there even. Unfortunately, there are young girls missing all of the US. . . the fact that they are missing is not enough to tie the cases together. Also, the name thing is a stretch IMO.
