Okay, so Jeffrey Dahmer was living in South Florida at the time of Adam Walsh's kidnapping and murder. I didn't know that. However I don't believe Dahmer was responsible. The Adam murder does not fit Dahmer's signature. Dahmer wanted relationships (with dead things)--he didn't grab people off the street. And although I don't want to offend anyone's sensibilities, the only part of Adam which was ever found was his head. If Dahmer had killed the boy, he would have kept it.

Yea I don't believe anyone has ever made a connection between Walsh and Dahmer, correct me if I'm wrong...

Sorry--I should have linked in my original post. It was just in the news today:

Here's another:

I don't believe Jeffrey was responsible, either. Adam was not within the age range that JD seemed to prefer; his youngest was 14, if I recall correctly. It just doesn't seem, to me, to fit his MO or his profile, Just my opinion.

I have read extensively on both these cases in the past. I do not think Jeffery did this either. The time line, the head being found, none of this points that way to me. I tried the links in the post above but did not get the articles. I would love to know who Adams killer was, but I just don't see it being Jeffery, IMO
I agree. I'd love nothing more than to finally find out who killed that poor child, but I'm certain it wasn't JD. It's frustrating to have this many years go by and still have no answers for John Walsh.

Decades Later, New Clues in a Cold Case
Could Jeffrey Dahmer Be to Blame for Adam Walsh's Murder?
By GEOFF MARTZ
Aug. 13, 2007
The abduction and murder of 6 ½-year-old Adam Walsh, who disappeared in 1981 from a Florida mall, is one of the most famous missing children cases in America.
It was a crime that outraged a nation and propelled Adam's father, John Walsh, to devote his life to fighting crime on the television program "America's Most Wanted."
John Walsh remains convinced the killer of his son was drifter Ottis Toole, now deceased, and Walsh's longtime friend and colleague Joe Matthews says he has proof -- although the crime remains officially unsolved.
But in those chaotic early days of the investigation, in a time before amber alerts and DNA, what clues may have been missed?
Now a fascinating new theory has surfaced: Could one of the most famous murders of our time have been the work of one of the most famous murderers of all time?
For the past 11 years, a true-crime author named Arthur Jay Harris has been investigating the case on his own, and he has uncovered a shattering revelation. Who was working only minutes from that mall that morning? Jeffrey Dahmer, the serial killer.

Yes this case is huge, but first question is, when you mentioned that Joe Matthews says he has proof ... WHAT PROOF? Can anyone comment on this?

According to the last page of this report...and I quote:
"John Walsh, who declined our request for an interview, remains convinced that the killer of his son was Ottis Toole. Walsh's longtime friend and colleague, Joe Matthews, said that he (Matthews) now has proof that it was Toole, but declined to show it to us. He said he is waiting to reveal his evidence on an episode of "America's Most Wanted" this fall."
Guess we will have to wait to see what his proof is...

My husband and I watched the program last night. Hubby doesn't think Dahmer did it...can't wait to see what evidence they have on AMW in the fall....the two men who said they saw Dahmer were very convincing..but, I am quite aware eyewitness testimony is not always accurate! Have a great day folks! :) jmho

I have my doubts too that JD was invovled, but it is interesting. It is nice to know that Adam hasn't been forgotten, and someone is still interested in the case.

Hi LF, nice to see you too! The 2 men who saw JD did seem pretty convinceing, even after all those years.I wonder if their description of the little boy fits Adam? I can't wait to see this episode of AMW to see Matthews proof.
Little Adam such a cute picture, looked like his father don't you think?

It is good that Adam hasn't been forgotten. Such a sad story.
I missed the episode last night but there was a discussion about this on one of the boards a while back, and I remember thinking there was a pretty good point about a blue van and the place JD worked had one similar. I want to see AMW in the Fall too.

Dahmer imho was just pure evil incarnate....it's really a good thing he was killed in prison...and I wouldn't say that about too many people..but this guy ugh! The two eyewitnesses, the crime writer, and I think one guy if I'm not mistaken from FBI all thought it was possible it was JD.....I hope someone will post it here when that episode on AMW will be aired, because I don't always watch it...but that one I've just gotta see! I don't know, star, if they recognized Adam or not! Have a great night, and hope to see more of you on the other forum...whew..I lost my cool over there at a couple of folks, you probably read it....but, it's ok...this old gramma still has some fire left in her :) ! Imo,LF.you're right,JD got what he deserved. As I said I have my doubts in this case, but I also wonder if there could be a connection, maybe if JD killings just escalated as time went on?jmo

It's terrible that so much time has passed without any resolution. It's so heartbreaking. I hope Adam's killer is found soon.
