snipped some stuff from the other board...
*****""According to Motweiler, there was no missing person’s report filed when Renee first wandered off into the desert after her car broke down on a rugged back road on Saturday, June 24. Nor, he said, was there any immediate indication that the young woman was in jeopardy.""****** An oxymoron statement if there ever was one~!!!!!!!!!!
*****""According to Motweiler, there was no missing person’s report filed when Renee first wandered off into the desert after her car broke down on a rugged back road on Saturday, June 24.""*****
Who were they expecting to file a missing person report~??? Not to mention that Renee wasn't missing and the local officials were TOLD where she was.... had the Sheriff's went out to check on her, she would be alive today.
The Sheriff's did tell EquuSearch not to come... Stating that it was a waste of time. That she was definitely was not in the area.
NOTE: Renee's body was found in that same area the sheriff insisted she couldn't possibly be, and that same area they refused access to for searching...and she was nude.

No clue as to what test...or why.

Hey jen
So another test, what they didn't like the results of the first one or is that one of their excuses to postpone the results just a wee bit longer?! It's amazing Anna Nicole Smith's son has already had one autopsy and toxicology report completed and I believe another one also, and that was only a couple of weeks ago. Yet here we are still waiting for the initial results for Renee, which has been well over 2 months now.
I was told that a friend stopped by independence on their way out of town and that person ran into a firefighter and brought up Renee and Shaleen to the FF in which he stated that there was another womans body found up there during the same time period as Renee and Shaleens were - making it 3 women - cause of death unknown - same time periods. Which brings about another question as to why wasn't the other womans death brought up by anyone - media, news, internet . . . ????
I definately agree that something is going on up there and I have a sick feeling in my stomach that it unfortunately has something to do with the Sheriff's Department or as one posted in the other bulletin maybe a family member of the local LE!!!
Too many conflicts of interest in all areas regarding Renee's death - and I don't think the Sheriff has had one thing to say that might coinside with anything he has said previously!
How is the family holding up? Is the "Little Man" doing good?, I sure hope so!! God bless his little heart!!!
Renee, you are FOREVER missed and loved! May God have Mercy on whomever's soul that did this to you!! FOREVER :rose:

I have heard reports that there was a 3rd woman, but to date it is being denied publicly. So it's hard to say...maybe (douby it) there is a problem up there that they are keeping quite thinking it will be easier to solve out of the public eye. Yes, I am making excuses but on the other hand feel if that is the case they have a duty to warn the public! How many more women have to die?
With regards to the autopsy, I don't know what test they are running, if it's true. Maybe something showed up and they needed to double check it. Maybe you are right. Maybe it is showing she WAS murdered and didn't die from exposure and the LE claimed fromt the second her body was found.
Time will tell.

I have copied something from a website where a ‘local’ from Bishop posted on the deaths of Renee Fox, Shaleen Duckey, and an unknown third death. I can't find anything on this third 'victim' personally, but apparently, the locals seem to know all about it, though they tend to be 'hush hush'.
http://66.102.7.104/search?q=cache:mgfPOWbjUywJ:crimeblog.us/%3Fp%3D33+renee+fox+inyo+county&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=5
I HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING THIS CASE SINCE THE BEGINNING. I FIRST HEARD ABOUT THE CASE WHILE ON VACATION IN JUNE LAKE WHEN I SAW THE FLYERS POSTED IN REGARDS TO RENEE. I WORK IN BISHOP, CA AND I AM VERY FAMILIAR WITH INYO COUNTY. THIS CASE DOES NOT SIT WELL WITH ME. WE HAVE A YOUNG BEAUTIFUL WOMAN LOST IN THE DESERT, FOR WHOM A SEARCH WAS NOT CONDUCTED UNTIL 24HRS LATER, SICKENS ME. RENEE LEFT BEHIND A YOUNG CHILD, FAMILY, AND NUMEROUS FRIENDS. LET US NOT FORGET ABOUT HER, WE HAVE T0 KEEP PUSHING FOR ANSWERS. I FIRMLY BELIEVE FOUL PLAY WAS INVOLVED, AND I ALSO BELIEVE THE OUTCOME OF THIS TRADEGY WOULD HAVE BEEN DIFFERENT IF THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE HAD RESPONDED QUICKLY! TO RENEE’S FAMILY AND FRIENDS, PLEASE DO NOT TAKE OFFENSE TO THIS, BUT HOW COULD HER BODY NOT HAVE BEEN FOUND FOR 6 WEEKS, WHEN THE AREA IS CRAWLING WITH AN ABUNDANCE OF WILDLIFE SUCH AS BIRDS, RABBITS, AND COYOTES , NOT TO MENTION IN AREA THAT IS HIGHLY TRAVELED WITH TOURISTS EACH WEEK. NOTHING ABOUT THIS CASE MAKES SENSE. WE HAVE HAD THREE SUSPICIOUS DEATHS IN INYO COUNTY OVER THE LAST 6 MONTHES OR SO,RENEE FOX, SHALEEN DUCKEY, AND ANOTHER WOMAN FOUND DEAD IN THE LOCAL HOT SPRINGS, COULD THERE BE A CONNECTION? I DO HOPE WE DON’T HAVE A SERIAL MURDERER ON OUR HANDS. MAYBE THIS CASE IS NOT RECEIVING AS MUCH ATTENTION AS IT DESERVES DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE AREA IS A HOT SPOT FOR TOURISM, AND GOD FORBID, WE INFRINGE ON TOURISM! ANYWAY, MY PRAYERS GO OUT TO THE VICTIMS FAMILIES. PLEASE DONT’ FORGET ABOUT THE LIVES THAT HAVE BEEN LOST. MAYBE IF WE MAKE ENOUGH NOISE ABOUT THESE CASES, ANSWERS WILL BE PROVIDED. IT HAS TO BE DIFFICULT FOR THE FAMILY MEMBERS TO MOVE FORWARD WITH THE GRIEVING PROCESS, WHEN QUESTIONS ARE LEFT UNANSWERED. MY PRAYERS GO OUT TO ALL OF YOU. GOD BLESS

I was up in the Lone Pine area on October 13th. I spoke with a "local" and I brought up the "murders" in Inyo County. I was trying to do a little of my own private investigating. This person who works for the City of Lone Pine told me that there had been three murders, Renee, Shaleen and the third female who she said was "murdered at Keough Hot Springs". No one can seem to find any information on this third woman with the exception of what is written on this forum and the link provided.
She also told me some other things that I don't feel I should publicly write about on this forum. As she said, everyone up there is keeping real quiet about this and the FBI is involved.
To me, it would be logical to warn the public that there is a possible perpetrator preying on women instead of burying their heads in the sand waiting for a possible next victim, ( IMO).
There is no doubt the Sheriff and his Posse did not do their job and I for one, hold them in part, accountable in Renee's death.
I hope that the autopsy is conclusive enough to get those answers. I don't like it one bit that the release comes from Inyo Sheriff's Office. Are they going to twist the truth AGAIN? I am aggravated with them, I am hurt for Renee and her family and what they have put them through.
God Bless Renee & her brother, Eric Somes.

3 months and 3 days and still no autopsy report. Does anyone have any idea how long these are really supposed to take? They said 6-8 weeks!
It's like we are waiting for the jury to finish deliberating (did I spell that right?). So is it good or bad when it takes this long? Are they being thorough or trying to find a way to cover their tracks? So many questions.
Any theories on this?

Hi Jenn,
I feel that it is most likely like someone else on one of the forums said, "it's not high profile". It's very unfortunate that it has taken this long and how much longer should someone have to suffer with not knowing? Do they advise the family when they, (Orange County), have concluded the autopsy and THEN the information relating to it is released by Inyo? If that is the case, how long will Inyo take to release it once they get it?
I wished I knew more. Unfortunately I have no theories.
Hope you and your family are doing well, despite the obvious.
xoxo

Orange County concluded their part (I think) before Renee's Memorial, around that time, or at least by the 6-8 week time table. I just can't remember when I called them, when they said they released their part of it. (Sorry if I am not making sense).
Around the 6 week period, I spoke with the coroners office in Inyo County, and was told it should be "soon", and to call back about once a week.
If I am not mistaken, (lack of coffee so I am still fuzzy), it is Inyo County that comes to any and all conclusions.
Funny the mention of not being high profile...she had national coverage for a while. I'd call that high profile. It just isn't anymore. I believe once the autopsy report comes out, she may get the coverage she did in the beginning. Of course that is partly on what the report says, and how many people write and call in to their local paper and news station for more information.
Remember, she is not the only victim from this last summer to die without any real explanation in that County, and the local people will talk about other possible crimes (deaths) against women "off the record". The towns up there are known to still get together at Christmas time in their town centers...which speaks volumns.

I was not going to publish this today, but so many people have been waiting.

http://extra.sierrawave.net/news.mov
I guess she died within the hour...whatever that means. I am not convinced she did this to herself. Too many questions about the investigation, and the condition of her remains for me. Could Inyo have prevented this tragedy by looking for her when the family that saw her, reported her 30 minutes later to the rangers? Yes. They would have found her and she would still be alive. I feel that with every cell in my body. Should they answer to this and change their policies in answering distress calls/reports? Yes. In LA, they always prefer a false call than a real one.
Could there be a lot more to this? It is very possible.
Regardless of the results, there is a very special little boy that will have to grow up not knowing and one day possibly forgetting what a wonderful mommy he had. She really was a great mom. Here I am the older cousin, with children older than hers, and SHE taught ME a lot.
The last few months of her life may have been in turmoil, but Renee truly was a strong and determined woman. Yes, we all know she could have and should have had many more years to make a few more mistakes and come out on top.
Very few people know why she packed up her car and started driving to an area unknown to her. She was emotionally kicked while she was down. But to family reading this, we CANNOT point fingers. It will not change this past summers' loss.
Regardless of our current lifestyles, we have all been taught about the resurrection. Let us all work on being able to see her again in paradise.
Thank you to everyone that has cared enough about our families grief so be so supportive.

You people need a life. And the author doesn't even post from anywhere in the US so you should stay the hell out of it. None of you have any idea what folks in Inyo Co. are like. And we never had any meth there untill YOUR CHILDREN BROUGHT IT UP FROM THE CITIES! The Inyo Co. Sheriffs are not there to babysit every meth head that finds his or her way up there just to get lost in the desert. You wonder why it wasn't a pripority the intstant the report came in? Because too many of you idiots come up here and take up all the sheriffs time drinking and driving off the roads and then blaiming it on Law Enforcement in Inyo County...
So I suppose that there are no "Locals" down there in your neck of the woods who party and "hang out"... Just in Inyo County right?
What a bunch of idiots you all are! Haven't any of you got anything better to do than get all puffed up about some person you don't even know? In a place that you have never been to? NONE OF YOU KNOW ANYTHING...
I would suggest that you kill all these threads about Renee because all you are doing is giving AMMO to the DA in Inyo County... You are acutally ruining ANY chance that the family might have had for a wrongful death suit.
What a bunch of jerks!

You are obviously unfamiliar with anything to do with Renee, or am I completely wrong and you are simply telling us that YOU are the only one who knows anything about Renee? BTW FYI the author does know Renee very well, just in case you haven't seen anything in regards to them. As I have always been taught down in "my neck of the woods" "If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all" as well as "Treat others as you would like to be treated". Your unkindness and hurtful words are very unnecessary and unneeded in here or in any other forum, thread, blog, etc. Please show the family and friends of Renee some respect, they have already been through more than anyone should have to! :rose:

You Sir,
Have no right to say anything about WHO can post here. There are VERY MANY UNITED STATES CITIZENS that are currently not in this country, but are equally concerned about what is going on in Inyo County. That is what the Internet is for, to bring the world a little closer together.
You need a lesson in compassion and understanding. You apparently, have never lost a loved one or are you incapable of having such feelings~?
The first post on this board has a link to post 128 has been moved to…
http://boards.crimelibrary.com/showthread.php?t=272350&page=4&pp=40
“Cabojenn” did not “author” post 128. “The concerns of the family” was a collaboration of those that had been in Inyo County.
Inyo County relies on tourist dollars, yet takes NO responsibility for a tourist safety.
The Sheriff’s department DID choose to have a Sheriff’s car parked outside the restaurant & hotel to “baby-sit” the family while they were eating and sleeping. (But the sheriff detective did not have the time to talk to them~?)
It was also the Sheriff’s Department that decided to call a press conference BEFORE calling the family.
I am sorry you do not like the publicity. But the public needs to know~!! You would think that the kind folks of Inyo would also like to know what is going on in their own county.
Maybe your wish will be granted and everyone will quit coming to your county.
LarryW
01-20-2007, 11:51 AM
Compasion? Yes I have compasion for people who deserve it. Yes I have lost friends and loved ones. But I didn't go around blaming the local law enforcement for their demise.
Obviously you are all children here and none of you wants to admit that this woman did something wrong. She got herself into this mess through the use and distribution of illegal and dangerous drugs.
I have no reason to go on arguing the point with a bunch of idiots so I will cease to post here. I just figured that someone had to come in here with a voice of reason even if it goes unheard by most of you. At least this entire thread is being viewed by the authorities and will most likely come out in the court cases.
Maybe, just maybe this might be a good lesson for those of you who have not already indulged in this crap. Drugs can get you into a lot of trouble and it is YOUR choice to ignore the consequenses of your actions or not. It is no ones elses fault what happens to you if you choose to involve yourselves with this drug or any other. Not mine, not the sheriffs, not your mothers... YOURS and YOURS alone.
And please... No more meth head memorials... If we put up a memorial for everyone who does something stupid we will be tripping over them in no time.
LarryW
01-20-2007, 12:03 PM
OH! And another thing. Since when is it the responsibility of Inyo County to keep you idiots off drugs? Since when is it our responsibility to lead you all around the desert by the hand and make sure you have water and you are not over heated and not doing drugs? And little did ANY of you know that while the area is indeed inside of the Inyo County borders, the land that Renee was found on is actually Public Land. It is managed by the BLM. That is who you should be talking to. Not the sheriffs.
And although we provide good wholesome entertainment and recreation and facilities to enjoy those things, we do NOT rely on tourist dollars... We are strong people and we were here long before there were tourists. The vast majority of us wish you would all just stay home...

You are coming up with lame excuses after the fact.
You also have a selective memory. You seem to have forgotten about the German Family that is still missing~!! Has Inyo County not found the time~?? It was a family of 4 that has not been seen since 1996~!!
Inyo County Law Enforcement has had a horrible reputation for a long time. Which also includes ignoring calls and blaming victims.
Now are we to blame the BLM for waiting 3 hours to call the Sheriff’s~?? OR blame the sheriff’s for waiting 20 hours~?? OR the coroner, who recovered Renee’s body, and said she was found in a “drainage ditch”~????????(Was he covering for the sheriff, Bill Lutze who said it was a “ravine”) Why won't they tell the truth~?
They have yet to find Renee’s clothes~!!!!
The Inyo County Authorities reputation is SO BAD that this article was published on the front page of The Inyo Register on July 29 & 30 2006…
Look into this one
Think something is a little fishy about any aspect of local government? If so, the 2006-07 Inyo County Grand Jury would like to hear about anything that just doesn’t seem right when it comes to local government actions or inaction. The new Grand Jury can investigate not only Inyo County government functions and departments, but also nose around in the Bishop City Hall. The Grand Jury is currently requesting “inquiries” from county residents about potential situations or problems citizens would like to have the Grand Jury explore. What a bunch of idiots you all are!
What a bunch of jerks!
I am an idiot because I truly believed LE would do everything they could to find Renee once they learned a young mother’s car had broken down in the desert after she made a wrong turn.
I am an idiot because I thought LE would not stop until they found her.
I am an idiot because I grieve the loss of a loved one.
I am an idiot because I researched meth overdoses.
I am an idiot because I found they rarely die from it.
I am an idiot because I found that ingesting meth is the slowest and least lethal way to abuse the drug.
I am an idiot because I found that 4-5 milligrams of meth is not a lethal amount.
I am an idiot because I researched what happens when they die.
I am an idiot because I found out that when people die, they just don’t cross their arms over their chests, lie down, and die.
I am an idiot because I found out that 99.99% of all humans found deceased with their arms crossed over their chests were either murdered by a loved one who felt guilt, or the person died an accidental death in the company of another, who out of shame or guilt crossed the arms of the deceased also out of guilt for fleeing.
I am an idiot because I seek out others for help when something doesn’t seem right.
I am an idiot because I hunt for the truth.
I am an idiot because I stand up for righteousness.
Let me guess, I am an idiot because I took the time to type this (about 300 seconds or so).

I care because we are tired of cleaning up the messes that you and your relatives make when you come up. Inyo County does not have the resources to go around taking all the drug addicts from 3 different states by the hand and leading them back out of the county. And when you people start deciding to take care of yourselves instead of relying on LE and the courts to do it for you this country will be in a much better way.
I know that everything I say here is falling on deaf ears and I don't care to persue it any longer. I just wanted to come in with a voice of reason where there was none. Now it's history and it's all up to you and the already overloaded courts. Good luck with your future and I hope that this unpleasant experience will possibly save a life or two in the future. What mess do my relatives make? And if you want to be a voice of reason, calling us idiots, telling lies about Renee (you said she was a dealer, she was not), and being mean to people that are in pain is not the way to go. The LE in Inyo County have been cruel to our family almost from the beginning. And yet you call us jerks?
All Renee did was pass thru town, and make a wrong turn. From what I understand, it can happen to anyone. Her car broke down, and she tried to walk back to the safety of your beloved town. She clearly never made it.
There are pieces missing from the puzzle. If this was your daughter, sister, cousin, mother or friend, you would want to know what happened. You'd beg anyone to help you, and everyone to hear you.
Renee was not worthless. She was having a bad year and made a bad choice, then ended up in Inyo County. If you'd have met her, you would not be doing this mean thing by coming here and trying to scare people away from seeking truth; truth that does not seem to come from the LE. If you care about your community, then you'd seek truth as well.

(I think the answer to that question is obvious, you would have to be somewhat intelligent.)
There is one thing untouchable, and that is the consideration for my family. I am a relative, I have for years enjoyed the Mammoth and Bishop Valleys. No, I am not a drug addict, in fact have never even tried them. But I have contributed to the tourism dollars that I am sure you have partook of. My rights as a U.S. Citizen give me the rights to go wherever the public domain is. So yes, I will return to the Owens Valley, despite how you would have represented the fine locals up in that area. And LAAAARRRYYY, look for me, I would be proud to look you in the eye and let you know what a real "idiot" is.
Besides that, the inconsiderate word of others really have no bearing on the truth. And who knows, the truth may never come out. What is for sure, is that only by the pressure put on the LE by their peers or by family's such as ours will we get anywhere. It is sad that a certain lethargic feeling has permeated the LE in that area. Why else would a grand jury be looking into things. Larry W can continue to shove his BIG head (an little tiny brain) in the sand to think that us not speaking of Renee on this blog will solve everything. :punch: As for our life? Each and everyone of us has a life. Perfect? no I am sure I can speak for everyone. But, fulfilled, yes. Why, because we all have shown compassion about someone we know and love, or a stranger. Regardless, our lives are not full of anger and meanness as some have demonstrated. Rather, this is the only way we can strive for the truth to come out that we have found. It will not come out on its own.
Renee will be missed by all that knew her smile and those she touched!

I hate to bring this up, but I don't think that the Grand Jury is looking into Renee's death and the botched investigation. Somebody would have to submit a complaint first, a complaint form can be found here: http://www.inyocourt.ca.gov/Inyo%20County%20Grand%20Jury%20Complaint%20Form.pd f
The grand jury regularly publishes notices in the newspaper reminding Inyo citizens that they can investigate any complaints against the local government and public officers. I have seen several notices in the newspaper in the past few months. I'm not sure if it had anything to do with Renee, it seems like it's just a formality they do. I rarely read the newspaper until this past year, so I'm not sure if they always announced their services in the newspaper in previous years, or if it's something new. It has been a pretty tumultous year in Inyo, though! 3 mysterious deaths, among other things... So it's possible they did have Renee's case in mind, but somebody would have to complain before they could do anything. Unfortunately, my impression is that most people grumble among themselves about problems they see, but don't actively complain or do anything about it. Perhaps that's why things have gotten so bad. At the very least, changes need to be made about the way the Inyo sheriff's office carries out investigations, since this isn't the first time they conducted a lazy search (there was the German family that disappeared 10 years ago too).

I do not believe that the grand jury would be looking into Renee's death. However I do believe that there has been cause for them to investigate things up there, even before Renee went missing. That is the point that I was trying to make. LE didn't just get lethargic overnight. I believe there are some deep seated problems that need to be looked into IMO.
