As some of you might now, I signed to get this bill passed. And have been actively looking for ANY case in which the perp gets sentenced to 25 years in prison for 'certain' sex crimes against children under the age of 12.
The last case that I was keeping an eye out on, the 18-19 y/o perp got probation for molesting children at his Mom's daycare. The link was originally posted on thread about the Jessica Lunsford Act that got a name change as I was using it to update the trial for John Couey as it approached.
This newest case has me floored.
"A Lutz teen is behind bars after being accused of raping a 2-year-old girl.
Hillsborough County deputies said 18-year-old Eric Tate of Lutz was the girl's babysitter.
On Tuesday, deputies said the girl was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital for unexplained injuries. Doctors said the girl was a victim of a severe sexual assault."
