I finally made it to the downtown parking garage from where LE thinks the shot originated to see the layout of it. LE said it is the fifth floor and I thought that might be the top floor (maybe to alleviate some of the echo sound from the gunshot?), but there are six floors to the garage. He shot from the next to the top floor. I guess there would be very few cars that would have been parked way up there at 11 a.m. on a Monday....

SO MY NAME IS SCOTT CLARK AND I LIVE IN DOWNTOWN RENO, I TOOK AN INTEREST IN THE CASE FROM THE VERY START BECAUSE IT WAS SO CLOSE TO HOME. SO ONE DAY WHEN I HAD NOTHING TO DO I WENT EXPLORING AROUND THE MILLS LANE JUSTICE CENTER WHERE WELLER WAS SHOT IN HIS OFFICE. I DECIDED TO LOOK AROUND FOR A PARKING GARAGE OR CONSTRUCTION SITE THAT A SNIPER COULD SHOOT WELLER FROM I WALKED AROUND FOR A WHILE NOT FINDING ANYTHING UNTIL I CAME ACROSS A PARKING GARAGE BY THE CENTURY THEATRES. THERE IS A CAFE UNDERNEATH IT.
I TOOK THE ELEVATOR TO THE FIFTH FLOOR. THIS GARAGE IS NOT LIKE MOST PARKING GARAGES I'VE BEEN TO, THIS ONE IS VERY SECLUDED AND HAS CLASSIC CARS ON DISPLAY.

THIS GARAGE MAKES THE MOST SENSE BECAUSE THERE IS NO OTHER GARAGE WITH A VIEW OF CHUCK WELLER'S OFFICE, IT WOULD IN MY OPINION BE IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE SHOT TO BE FIRED ANYWHERE ELSE.

SUV ON VIDEO LOOKS LIKE MACK'S RENTAL

Police have video that shows the kind of SUV Darren Mack rented backing into a parking garage space facing the judge's office, and the rear hatch opening and closing at the time the judge was shot two weeks ago in downtown Reno.

A camera in the Galleria garage June 12 photographed a light-colored 2006 Ford Explorer on the south side of the fifth floor, according to a new search warrant filed Wednesday.

Great pictures. I was at the courthouse recently and looked around, too. In my opinion, that particular garage is the only place where I could see there being a straight "shot" to the judge's office. The Century Theater is between the garage and the judge's office, so the fifth floor of the garage allows a view right over the top of the theater and is about the only place where DM could have shot into that particular third floor office. There must have been a lot of planning. I mean, I assume DM had been in the judge's office before, but that's a lot of researching to pull that off.

I noticed in the first picture that there is a vertical sign that looks like it says "Galleria" on it (part of the sign is cut off). Definitely got the right place! Thanks again! :)

So I read in the RGJ that Clark County will be prosecuting Darren Mack, but that of course brings to mind if the trial will take place in Reno or Las Vegas

The trial could be held in either Reno or Las Vegas, with the prosecution coming from Las Vegas. The defense also wants the judge to be from Clark County. They also have to find an impartial jury. So, it remains to be seen which city the trial will be held in. :(

Charla was dating a man named Mark before her murder. He has publicly come forward acknowledging that. I'm not surprised at the "fan club" over at Darren Mack's site...it was growing during the time he was a fugitive. I hadn't seen it recently however...:D
