In an article which appeared Thursday in the St. Petersburg Times concerning Carla Sauer-Iyer, a former caregiver of the late Terri Schindler Schiavo, Michael says that Iyer is lying about allegations that he abused his late wife while she was a patient at the Sabal Palms Nursing Home in Largo, Fla., during 1995 and 1996, that he kept asking when she was going to die and bragged that he would become rich when she did die.

More like it's time for people to let Terri rest in peace.

For the love of muffins, can we just let this go already?

It is not questioned that Terri's case has caused many to get a living will that didn't have one before. It has caused me to look at my own and become more specific. I have put into mine that if there is any suspicion of foul play or if there is a conflict of interest, another woman involved with my husband for instance, that he looses all input into my care etc. There is a 2nd in the wings to take over. I don't know to this day if there was foul play with Terri but her case has caused me to think. I believe that is the only good that has come out of the case going public. We all have had questions about our own care in similar circumstances and many did something about it.

No link cause I can't remember where I read it, but I read somewhere that Michael wants to become a politician. Now aside from the case, that is a profession I sure don't trust very well.

-IMO-
Peace

What does this have to do with Michael and Terri Schiavo? Michael didn't receive any insurance money from Terri's misfortune...

Regarding Iyer's claims, Judge Greer wrote that they were "incredible to say the least" and that "Ms. Iyer details what amounts to a 15-month cover-up (April 1995 through July 1996) which include the staff of Palm Garden of Largo Convalescent Center, the Guardian of the Person, the Guardian ad Litem, the medical professionals, the police, and believe it or not, Mr. and Mrs. Schindler. It is impossible to believe that Mr. and Mrs. Schindler would not have subpoenaed Ms. Iyer for the January 2000 evidentiary hearing had Iyer contacted them (in 1996) as her affidavit alleges."

Well, I can understand both sides frustrations. On one side you have people that are just tired of hearing about it and gave up. On the other are people that are still sickened by the fact that it is perfectly fine to let people starve to death.

Personally, I am conflicted. I have read the entire autopsy report and have seen the autopsy photos. There is no way of knowing what truly happened. The ME said "Autopsy examination of her neck structures 15 years after her initial collapse did not detect any signs of remote trauma, but, with such a delay, the exam was unlikely to show any residual neck findings."

Overall, I think there are only 2 people that knew what happened. One is dead, and the other is very defensive. If there was a crime committed, we can only hope justice is served. I have no faith in our justice system so I wont hold my breath and neither should anyone else. It is like hoping terrorists will suddenly vanish off the face of the planet.

Terri's autopsy photos were not released....

Not "officially" released to the media. I have them on a CD along with all of the other casefiles I collected. The reports and such are all saved. I would post them but that would be in bad taste and wrong on a few levels.

He also said that there were no signs of trauma, during her initial hospitalization, or in the days, weeks or months after, despite numerous physical exams and radiographs. No bruises, contusions scrapes, fresh or healing fractures were ever noted by her physicians or later, her therapists. In other words, no abuse, no beating, and no strangulation.

Here is a link to the PDF of the autopsy report..........

Yup........I notice that there are still boards up for OJ and Natalie Holloway...........both are subjects that I have no intrest in, and as a result, I don't visit those boards, but obviously there are others still interested. It ain't rocket science, boys and girls.

( I admit that I do peek at the Natalie board sometimes, the amount of name calling and flaming that sometimes goes on there can be entertaining :D )

Hello Tig
That is something I had not thought of. Perhaps I need to amend mine to say that my husband makes my decisions no matter what. If I am in a state like Terri's I would hope he finds companionship, (and yes sex, since he is a pig, although an old pig now). But I don't know you or your situation. I have been married "forever" and still love the old coot. I will always trust him more then anyone else in this world.
But you are right people should be very explicit in their living will as to what they want or don't want. We are all different with different life situations and feelings. JMO
