Dear Readers;

I haven't posted for so long, that I had to re-register... just really busy with a lot of irons in the fire. But it's past time, once again, to get the word out on the "Molly's Law" project and ask for people to visit our online petition, read the Preface to the law we have written, and sign in support of it... then pass the link and info. on to as many others as possible!

Coldwater suggested some relevant, high-traffic areas, where the post will be read and acted on by the GREATEST NUMBER of readers. So, you may read this elsewhere on the message boards... along with responses by others. I have so much work to do, that I can't post really frequently to keep it at the top of the lists, where it will be seen, so I hope your replies will help me with that.

At the moment, I have something over 1,300 online signatures and almost 2,500 signatures on hard-copy petitions. This isn't even a drop in the bucket to show for the untold amount of work I have put into this important project over the past few years. We should have hundreds of thousands, if not MILLIONS, of signatures by now... but we have no grant or other funds to help us publicize, set up a website, etc., etc. I have been joining various forums and message boards and posting whenever I can, but that is just not enough. People have said they are going to sign the petition and pass the link on (and have good intentions of doing so), but become distracted and then forget all about it.

PLEASE... if everyone would sign and pass it on to even a few family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, businesses, etc.... and ask each of them to do the SAME, on down the chain of E-mails, letters, phone calls, etc., the numbers would grow TREMENDOUSLY in a very short time! I have seen petitions with hundreds of thousands of signatures, having to do with subjects of FAR LESS importance than this one, and the comparison dismays and depresses me! Each person should think about what they would want done, if their child or adult loved one went missing! The problem has to be fought on many fronts, and this is one of the most important... because a scent-discriminating man-trailer, called in promptly on a search, can do MUCH to help find or recover these victims and/or gather evidence! We have reams of documentation on the use of Bloodhounds, which is our BEST recommendation, particularly on cases where the victim may have been taken in a vehicle, and the trail is old and contaminated!

We should NEVER allow a trail to become this complex or difficult, however, before a qualified man-trailer is called in! The only hope for change, nationally, is through "Molly's Law" and the attending aspects of our overall plan, which is to also educate law enforcement and the general public; to provide contacts for these resources; and to encourage further training of search dog teams to hone their skills! Your help in making this possible is most deeply appreciated! Please refer to the link below, and permission is given to forward this message in its entirety, to any person, group or list that can be of help! Thank you!

Sincerely,

"Rummy"

P.S. -- I am providing the link to the Online Petition site for "Molly's Law™", which I hope you will visit and read what we, as a group of search dog handlers from all areas of Law Enforcement and Search and Rescue across the country, are working on to help combat the problem of lost, missing and abducted children and adults.

Your signature will be greatly appreciated -- and please share this link and information freely with EVERYONE you possibly can! We need the help of all handlers and other concerned citizens to get the word out, as we plan to get the actual 12-point law we have written... passed as a National/Federal Law! Many thanks for all your support!!

Dear Readers;

I am running my plea, once again, for concerned citizens to help by reading the Preface to "Molly's Law" and signing our online petition at the site shown below.

As an update to my post above, we now have just over 1,400 online signatures... but I need many thousands more! You can increase our numbers greatly by signing and then copying and pasting the 2-paragraph message with the link to the petition and sending it to everyone in your E-mail address book, encouraging them to sign and pass it on in the same way. It costs you nothing, takes only a couple of minutes, and will make a big difference! That's all I ask! If your child or loved one was missing, I know you would want everything possible done to find them. Won't you help us get "Molly's Law" passed, so that we can help the families of victims... and, more than that, find some of these children BEFORE it is too late? Thank you! :rose:

Sincerely,

"Rummy"

Can I get a rundown of exactly what Molly's Law proposes? I might be thinking of the wrong law, but is this the one that wants license plates to be more visible? I read the link, and all I got out of it was that they want immediate uses of K-9 for tracking, was that all there was or are there more aspects? I read the one about the license plates in relation to the Molly Bisch murder, is this the same one? Or can I get a link to the case for Molly's Law (as in a victim site, or news story)?
Thanks!

I know about the one you refer to Auntie. I'm trying to find out if there is a comprehensive description which ties all of the different aspects of the bill together or if they are even the same?

http://www.mollybish.org/mollys_law.htm

NDIANAPOLIS - Molly's Bill, which would require police to investigate missing-adult reports more aggressively, was unanimously passed by the Indiana Senate on Monday, nearly completing the bill's passage into adoption.

The bill, H.B. 1306, was named after missing Madison native Molly Dattilo, who vanished from an Indianapolis neighborhood in 2004. Though her name is on the bill, other families of missing adults throughout the state have banded together with hopes of seeing the bill become a law.

In the Fall of 1985, we acquired our first Bloodhound for the purpose of training and getting involved in searching for missing persons. The impetus that kicked us into doing this was a missing child case that remains unsolved to this day. We felt that if a good Bloodhound had been used, there would have been a chance that little boy could have been found! By the time we got and trained our dog, too much time had passed to ever be able to help on that case.

However, we did assist our local and area police and sheriff's departments on other cases and did get to make a difference on several felony cases, including a missing person/murder case that was eventually re-enacted for the producers of The New Detectives on The Discovery Channel, in October of 2001. But times changed, and departments and new personnel became much less willing to ask civilian volunteers for this help. We found that this problem extends across the United States, and many other handlers who had trained their dogs for this purpose were ALSO not being called out on those cases where they could have made a difference!

It looks like you might be able to get up to 2000 signatures by the end of the month if you post this in a few other places, like newsgroups etc.
Or maybe send it to fark.com, that page gets a lot of hits.
