I was wondering what serial killer interests you guys the most. I would have to say that Ted Bundy fascinates me. He was smart (psychology degree), good looking, seemed just as normal as anyone, yet he ended up killing over 30 girls.

Ever since I heard a lecture in a history class about Vlad the Imapler, I would probably say him, only because his story is SO blood thirsty, and seems unreal-even though this was over 500 years ago. But for nowadays, I would have to agree with you on Ted Bundy, only because he escaped prison a few times, only to kill again, and had the nation scared to death. My parents kept a shot gun by the front door during that time, even though we lived in Idaho. We were all relieved when they caught him for good. I remember my dad cheering when they said on the radio that Bundy was finally dead.

I guess you're thinking about Heriberto Seda as the 2nd Zodiak. In NYC I think.

It's got to be Jack the Ripper for me , the 'first' serial killer, i've been to the area where the crimes were committed and obvioiusly it has all changed but it was still eerie at night

Mmm, this is a tough one. I'm gonna have to say Belle Gunness or Marcel Petiot.

Ian Brady interests me the most. He is highly intelligent and also very manipulative. I read the book he wrote "The Gates of Janus" and found it very fascinating, especially his analyses of other serial killers. I wrote to him once and he wrote back. I said that I wished he would do an analysis of the Bernardo-Homolka case as it so closely parallels his own.

Oh come on guys. What serial killer? The serial killer. Jack the Ripper. Why? Because we will never put a name to the face. And we never will. I wish I could write a book and make lots of money naming who my 'Final Solution' and 'Case Closed' are. But I can't. So at the moment, I wander the streets of Spitalfields, Whitechapel and Aldgate trying to trace his tracks. And get some insight into Jack.

OK, Joe, I am a TOTAL Neanderthal when it comes to JTR. I know he terrorized the area sometime in the 1800's. It baffles me that in that small area you said that he did his killings, that nobody caught him, or saw him commit his evil deeds. He might be the only one to commit the "perfect crime (or crimes) in all of history. He met his maker, and his one true judge when he kicked the bucket. It will be interesting, when we all are in heaven, to know the true identity then (among other secretive things that went on in history.) :)

JB, I think you really could write a book about JTR [ just keep in mind that you do have someone in the dungeon who would like a share of the profits]...Seriously JB, my friend you are very knowledgeable about old Jack..Why not try:D..Couldn't be as bad as some I have read:biggrin: and besides you make things very clear for me to understand, LOL...Love you lots:rose:, Suse

I, too, have thought about writing a book about the case. I wouldn't make the foolish claim that I solved the case as Cornwell did though. What stops me is questions such as..
Can I give this case a fresh perspective?
How does Autumn of Terror sound as a working title J.B.?
You and I collaborate?

A book collaboration Drummer? Could be interesting but you'd have to do all the PR and be the 'face'. However, I think 'Autumn of Terror' was used by Tom Cullen quite a while ago so you'd have to think of a new title. Not 'Dr Jack' Sara. There's got to be a doctor somewhere on another thread.
Supe, I read somewhere (and I think it was Colin Wilson or maybe Don Rumbelow) where it was said that on judgement day, all the 'ripperologists' will be in the crowd when St Peter (or whoever) says 'Jack the Ripper come forward and state your name.' And he will step forward and all the ripperologists will go WHO?

Drummer, talk some sense to the girls. You're the PR guy. Make them see reason. No doctors, vampires, celery, broccoli, supernatural oddities or vegetables were resonsible for the murders in Whitechapel.
I'm going for another prowl around Whitechapel tomorrow night so if I get attacked by a green vegetable I'll know which board to complain to!

It would make more sense and certainly more dramatic if Jack was some sort of supernatural being. But the truth is, he wasn't. He was Mr. Obscure and then he killed and killed again. He slashed his way into history and into our nightmares. What manner of man does things like that? A monster. A monster that looks and acts human.

It must be the hunger that has gone to my head, also the loneliness of being by ones self can cause drastic consequences..You really should remember to take better care of me when you leave..Especially more than just unlocking the door..;)

I don't think the celery is for eating. I would suggest a session with Doctor Sara - see if she'll let you lie on the couch - and get a prescription for some of her meds. The little pink ones work wonders.
