Fall 2002

A small Hispanic women and her heavy-set Caucasian husband walk into the US Forest Service Visitors Center in Mammoth Lake, California.

While the women’s husbands spoke to a USFS employee about campsite rules and stay limits, the woman spoke to another USFS employee and told her she was fearful of her husband and that he treats her badly. A third USFA employee gave the women a card to the local Domestic Violence center.

Spring 2003

Human remains were discovered behind the visitor’s center at Mammoth Lake, CA near the Shady Rest campground. Forensic testing determined she might have lived in Oaxaca, Mexico where she spent about ten years of her life before moving to California for the last two years of her life before she was killed.

Someplace there is a family who is missing this women. Was she a mother of children who still search, perhaps a sister, or daughter, an aunt or even a lover. There are people who are wondering where she is.
