I know that she was released from prison and married her "victim," Vili, last year, but nothing else has ever been said about her. Are they still married? Do either of them have jobs?

It's morbid curiosity - I can't imagine he's the typical settled-down-and-married type, and how on earth are they going to support themselves when he has no marketable skills and she's no longer allowed to teach; who would hire her to do what?

I thought I had heard or read that she and her husband were in negotiations regarding a televison show. I may just be making that up though.

Seems Vili is in a little bit of trouble.

I actually feel kind of sorry for Vili. I always have. He never had a chance to just BE a kid. Mary Kay saw to that. She should have been drawn and quartered for what she did to that 13 year old boy. What CHILD is ready to become a father twice over?

Now that she's finally had it her way, we see that Vili is out and about after midnight, getting drunk and who knows what else?

The whole thing is sad. Sad for Vili, sad for the children he fathered at such a young age and sad that MK is a bona fide fruitloop.

I firmly agree that what she did was wrong. On the other hand, he had his chance to walk away after she was sent to prison (twice), and after she got out this last time. Instead, he married her. And that's what boggles my mind about this whole thing. Are they BOTH nuts?

o.m.o.

Ick factor

Sums it up pretty well IMO.

On his own, he has no future whatsoever. My guess is that he was seeing/dating girls while MK was in prison; and he is not about to change his lifestyle for one that would be fitting to a 44 year old - he wants to par-TAY, get wasted and be the Big Man. (remember his appearance on GMA or the Today show just before MK's release from prison in 2004 and the stories that came out about how he acted in NYC??)

I'm waiting for Mr. and Mrs. Mary Kay to move to Hollywood, so Vili could hook up with his spiritual brother, K-Fed....they could start a new rap duo - the Dead End Kids.

Here's one story...

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/gossip/story/220887p-189875c.html

It's time for Vili Fualaau's second 15 minutes of fame. In 1996, when he was a mere 12, sixth-grader Fualaau made headlines by impregnating his 34-year-old teacher, Mary Kay Letourneau.

Now that she is out of prison - and a Seattle judge has lifted the no-contact order preventing her from seeing him - Fualaau is back in the spotlight and hitting the clubs.

After appearing on Thursday's "Today" show, where 21-year-old Vili told Matt Lauer that he's looking forward to seeing Letourneau and discussing their future together, the erstwhile littlest Lothario headed with an entourage to the Chelsea nightclub Suede, where he was throwing back the drinks.

"He was walking around acting like he was really important," our spywitness tells us.

Also in the club were Latin heartthrob Ricky Martin, actor Seth Green and Backstreet thesp Joey Fatone. We hear the three cutie celebs were much more low-key than Fualaau, who was giving out his agent's card to anyone who stopped by to say hi.

With an entourage yet...who does he think he is, P. Diddy?

(K Fed is a more accurate analogy, IMO...)

here's a link to the Today interview

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5612275/

and this interesting link:

http://www.historylink.org/essays/output.cfm?file_id=5727

apparently, the majority of Vili's income has been from his association with MKL. (remember how quick Vili and his mother were to reveal their identities for a hefty sum in 'exclusive interviews'?)

Fualaau, who dropped out of school at age 15, has struggled with substance abuse and depression. In 2002, he and his mother (who has custody of the two children he fathered with Letourneau) failed to convince a jury that the school district and a local police department should be held liable for damages to him caused by the affair. As of 2004, he was unemployed, with little income other than payments received for telling his story to talk shows and tabloids. "I don’t know what my feelings are right now," he told KING-TV, on the eve of Letourneau’s release, while waiting for a plane to take him to New York. "But I know that I do love her."...

While in prison, Letourneau tutored her fellow inmates, recorded books for the blind, sang in the choir, and regularly attended mass. She also violated the terms of her sentence by continuing to have contact with Fualaau. She sent him more than 20 letters, including one in which she threatened to have him castrated if had anything to do with any other women (she later said she was just "joking"). She was punished as a result, spending 18 of her first 24 months in solitary confinement. Fualaau, meanwhile, sold some of the letters to tabloids.

IMO most of the 'love' is from MKL's side, not VF's - recall that the Fualaaus sued the school district for negligence (and lost).

http://www.crimelibrary.com/criminal_mind/psychology/marykay_letourneau/9.html

In February, 1999, Vili appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show and said, "I plan to marry her. She's my world, she's my life and they all know that I have her ring on still and it's never going to change."

But apparently it did. Komo 1000 News reported that three years later, in a deposition for the losing lawsuit Vili and his mother filed against the Des Moines Police Department and the Highline School District, the 18-year-old Vili said, "I'm not in love anymore." The Seattle Post-Intelligencer Reporter wrote that, in the trial itself, he testified, "I can't see us together in the future. Personally, I've lost feelings for her."

Where is da' big PUKE ICON :punch:

OMG! We need a Major, Major big Puke Icon. I honestly believe that if I did what Mary Kay, I would still be in prison today, with the key nowhere to be found, the kids would be in separate foster homes and the boy toy hubby would have disppeared for parts unknown.

Not Mary Kay and Vili though. They live in a rented house on the beach; they don't work; and are living off of the high six figure fee that they got for the exclusive photo rights, etc. to their wedding.

I am not jealous. If this were a man who did what Mary Kay did, things would have been mighty different for that poor guy. And that is what pizzes me off to no end!

JMO and MOO!!

Quote from article (Mary talking to her 8-year-old Audrey):

"I told her, 'Mommy and Daddy fell in love, but the rules were we needed to wait until Daddy was older.'"

I feel sorry for Audrey and Alexis. I wonder if they get picked on in school? :(

Friday, June 2, 8 p.m.

In their first network primetime television interview since their May 2005 wedding, Mary Kay Letourneau and Vili Fualaau discuss their story, which began as an infamous affair between a teacher and her student and made headlines across the country. In the wide-ranging and intimate interview, Letourneau and Fualaau tell Josh Mankiewicz that they plan to have another baby. The couple also speak openly with Dateline about their life at home and raising their children - her four children from her previous marriage and their two together - and they share never-before-seen photos and video.

Mary Kay Letourneau: Bizarre case of married teacher who raped her young student and eventually had two children by him. Now out of prison, she has married her victim. Happy ever after? Not entirely. (http://www.crimelibrary.com/criminal_mind/psychology/marykay_letourneau/1.html)

There are new chapters 10, 11, 12 just added today, June 21, 2006.

I started a thread on it in this forum for those who would like to discuss your reactions to the story.

Enjoy!

Are these new chapters posted somewhere on the net?

I think it is a fascinating story. There are so many children involved! She was and still is very beautiful physiclly, and yet seems driven by romantic love. Seven years is a really long time for a purely sexual relationship to last. It's romance that never dies, and she seems to have an overdose!

If any of you are interested in reading an unbiased account of the sorded Mary Kay and Vili saga "If Loving You Is Wrong" (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0312970129/ref=cm_arms_pdp_dp/002-6812526-1731255?redirect=true&%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance&n=283155) is the one to read. I was totally riveted.
The movie: "All American Girl" was biased in favor of MK and portrayed this as a love story.
