Authorities will wait until January before presenting evidence to a grand jury about suspect Ben Fawley in the death of Virginia Commonwealth University student Taylor Behl, sources familiar with the case told The Times-Dispatch.

Thanks for posting this singlesix.

Just as Dorkette mentioned on the other site, Where Are the Reports -

"He will not be charged on the 21st but that is okay - January is only around the corner and if not January then March. I would imagine the cell he is in is quite nasty and it isn't going to get any better for him."

So true. He ain't going anywhere so whiny BF can sit through Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years and ponder what may be on the horizon in January...or March. :cuss:

I hope they are collecting some solid stuff to come forward with when they meet with the grand jury and for a trial.

Thanks for the post, more information than we've seen in a while. Part of me figured we'd see an announcement of postponement since it didn't look like they were going to be able to find a cause of death. Without that evidence the prosecution is going to have to have an increadibly solid case to get BF for murder. Based on what Taylor's mom said the other week, it didn't sound like they had the most convincing evidence as of yet. Hopefully the extra time will help them build the best case they possibly can.

BF's story of an accidental death is not credible and there is strong evidence to disprove his story.

gopeterson - I also believe there is sufficient evidence that is known only to LE and the AG which will satisfy the 1st degree murder requirements.

The gag order has put this case on the backburner from a news standpoint but rest assured, behind the scenes it is any but quiet.

I would like to expand on your comment regarding BF. His story is not credible because HE is not credible. He has yet to answer a question without some sort of half truth baked in it. His long criminal history shows he can't get from one side of town to the other without committing some form of crime. He is another glaring example of a selfish, self centered, socially disfunctional misfit who has spent all his energy being a worthless member of every community he has lived in.

He will have his day in court and he will have every opportunity to present a case for his innocence. I expect the trial to be fair and for the jurors to be unbiased. The truth will prevail.

Thanks for starting this thread. I just heard on the 6am NBC12 news (out of Richmond) broadcast that the Mathews County Grand Jury is convening today in Taylor's case, which contradicts Nolan's Nov. 11 RTD article. There is, however, no mention of this at

http://www.nbc12.com

so I don't know whether their report is true or not.

Veracity - no offense taken at all, I can assure you. I was taken aback when I heard the report on NBC 12 this morning. I can only assume that the news crew put a "tickler" reminder on their calendar for today and didn't bother to check if the grand jury was really convening today - so much for the veracity (LOL) of reports we hear on TV news! Thanks so much for checking with Mathews County.
