Thanks for the info. I am a little scared to go, but I want to go to some of the hearings. The local news only reported about the bomb at the federal building the day, and day after the bomb was found. I think the Time's Dispatch was told by RPD not to put a lot of info out about the Behl case. The RTD was responsible for a lot of info that leaked to the public.

Are minors also being charged in connection with the child porn charges?

BF is not a minor, and if it is solely to protect the identity of the minors in the photos, this can be accomplished in adult court.

Child porn is considered a crime against children. The Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court in Virginia has jurisdiction over crimes against children even though committed by adults. It is just a preliminary hearing which will determine probable cause to send to Circuit Court.

I suspect the feds will pick up the child porn charges because federal law carries a longer sentencing range.

I must confess I didn't understand why this was transferred to JC, as I thought a hearing for an adult, involved with crimes against children could be handled in the CC by merely referring to the children as "John and/or Jane Doe" to protect the minors.

Once indicted, if I understand your post correctly, BF's child porn related trial will be handled in the adult court system.

I agree, that inasmuch as the child pornographic material is dispersed over the internet, nationwide, that juristiction and sentencing will be in the control of the Federal Government, in lieu of the Commonwealth.
