In conjunction with another thread on here that addresses the validity of news stories given out over the air ..

This morning at 5:10, one of the main stories on WUSA-TV here in D.C., there was a story on Taylor which said, in effect, that Taylor's family doubted that they would ever really know what happened to her that night, or what caused her death. This report was given to the media allegedly by a "family attorney".

I have searched the WUSA TV website, and find no link whatsoever to this piece of news that they reported live this morning.

I know I heard it. I know I'm not misconstruing it. But how can I prove it to you?

So I guess there is something to be said for the lack of validity from television news.

It's not just a question of online accessibility of news broadcasts but of the print media as well. I went back to

http://www.taylorbehl.notagz.com/

to re-read some of the past news reports linked at the site. The following is supposed to be the link to second Washington Post article listed for 9/19/2005...

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/09/19/AR2005091900703.html

Hmmm...

Hi Lady!

Do me a favor and click your first link.

Scroll down to the large yellow box and and click Fox News.

Scroll down to Ads by Yahoo!: Results 1-1 for "taylor behl".

Scroll down to www.myspace.com/doowop and click.

Scroll down to the comments on the right hand side of the page and view the 4th one down by Chaos on Oct 15, 2005, marked "Something I drew".

What is that sticking up in the back of Taylor's head in the middle of the halo. You can send me a PM if you wish.

TIA

Veracity, you didn't sound preachy at all. In fact, you responded the way I'd hoped someone would :)

I agree with you totally. The issue that arose, as you know, was a news story that no one can now verify, and the inference that it was not factual - either from translation by the listener or from the station.

The fact is that sometimes things are said by the news that can't be verified without going to alot of trouble - for some of us, it's worth trying.

And, as you said .. it is maddening when opinion is taken as fact.

Great post.

The halo is encircling the top part of the other wing.

I had to look a couple of times to figure that out ;)

Thanks for your reply and opinion, RA!

I should think one could draw a wing that looks like a wing at first sight. IMO, it was drawn that way intentionally.

Take a look at Chaos' pic. He looks like a guy with angel wings.

IMO

Yeah, a guy with angel wings...but no halo.

The signature on the picture looks like it starts with "K" (for Kyle/Chaos). I do hope, though, that it's a picture that Taylor would have gotten a laugh out of.

On another note, when I was re-reading articles linked earlier, I came across a second one (Wash. Post, I think) that was no longer available, but the explanation given was that it was an AP article which the paper deletes from its online files after two weeks (that's the agreement the paper has with AP). I meant to save the link to reference here but I was interrupted by my dog who desperately needed a long walk.

Did the link/article pertain to Taylor's car/VIN which we were discussing?

I wish I knew. I was scanning all articles/broadcasts from "News Listed By Date" at

http://www.taylorbehl.notagz.com/

Articles are listed only by date and source.

The article I came across late last week (Fri., Sat., or Sun.)mentioned the VIN issue we're discussing in the body of the piece. I'd been searching for articles relating to the Mathews County Grand Jury and/or LE's request to Mathews County citizens who might have spotted the car or any of the three license plates. I've tried following all of the retrieval threads and/or search terms I used last week but have had no luck finding the article again.

On another note, this is my second response--the first time I tried to respond, I clicked on "Submit Reply" and got the dreaded "The page you are looking for could not be found or is currently unavailable...". Couldn't get back in to the board directly. Had to go to CrimeLibrary's page for Taylor... How weird is that?

VIENNA, Va. -- The cause of death of 17-year-old VCU student Taylor Behl may never be determined.

An attorney representing the Behl family said her body was so decomposed by the time it was found that it will be difficult to come up with a cause of death.

If something is worth reporting, it will be online somewhere.

Here is the link to the AP news report that has been deleted -- it actually appeared on NBC4 in DC (not a print article as I first thought...)

The Washington area stations have been reporting since yesterday that prosecutors will have an indictment soon - not mentioning in their reports if out of Richmond or Mathews County.

I dunno. I thought that part was rather curious myself.

Wow! The Mathews County Grand Jury hasn't even convened yet. This is an interesting development.

Hey Paula:

Did search of archived news articles about Taylor at

http://www.ap.org/

3 articles came up -- one can read an abstract (for free) or purchase a copy of the full text. I purchased copies for all three articles and none of them contained the VIN info we're seeking. All three articles had no information we've not seen elsewhere.

Interesting find...

The "AP" article linked above is listed as a link at

http://www.taylorbehl.notagz.com/

under "News Links Listed By Date"

for September 23.

The only archived "AP" news article in September that I found about Taylor is dated September 19. Was 9/23 such a slow news day for Channel 4 in DC that they had to air an AP story that was 4 days old?

Am I becoming "link happy"? :D

IMO, suspect is an inapproriate term for a person who has already admitted to causing someone's death.

Hi Lady!

Thanks for researching. I hope you weren't inconvenienced in any way.

I know what I heard, so I don't need proof. It's not important anyway because BF drove Taylor's car and killed her. Scratching out the VIN on Taylor's car, although BF has a history of doing this in the past, is the least of his worries re the charges against him.

Hey Paula!

No, I wasn't inconvenienced -- just perplexed. You know what you heard and I know what I read. I'll tuck the memory away in the recesses of my mind so I can pull it out again if necessary. I agree with you 100 % re BF's worries...
