View Full Version : Taylor & BF's Skateboard

It's been asked on this board before--why did BF make up his story about seeing Taylor "around" 9 P.M. the night of her disappearance--he said she came by to borrow a skateboard, they had sex, and he walked her back to her dorm around 9:30 p.m. We now know this didn't happen, but why would BF say he'd seen her at all that night and interject himself into the case at all? Then the lightbulb went on! What if, after leaving her dorm that night around 10:20 p.m., she really did stop by his apartment (either to borrow a skateboard or hang out for awhile). Unless he'd asked her outright, he wouldn't have known whether Taylor had told anyone where she was going. He probably thought he had to come up with some reason for "running into" her that night, and he made the time of their "meeting" earlier in order to throw suspicion elsewhere. Of course, if he'd been thinking, he should have said, "She was coming over to my place? Poor kid, she never made it. I wish she'd called me to let me know. I'd've been on the lookout for her..."

COG (Consciousness of Guilt) makes guilty people think defensively.
In this case, could BF be absolutely sure that no one had seen him with Taylor?
Could BF be absolutely sure that Taylor's remains wouldn't be found and that his DNA would be on her?
If Taylor did accompany BF to his apartment, could BF be sure her DNA wasn't there?
By BF admitting he was with Taylor that night, he gave an advance explanation for all of the above, should the need arise.

:D I think the same way. I thought Ben's statement about the 3 skaters might have meant that other people were involved. He threw it in the mix in the event he and the others had been spotted. What was up with the tan nissan? It was mentioned but never detailed. Did Ben say what type of car his abductors were driving? There was that post that Ben made the day Taylor disappeared about the fued between hot goth girls and not hot goth girls, and that the media only pays attention to goth when a teen dies, and some eluding to he hoped that noone did anything drastic to get attention for goths.

And not only throwing 3 skateboarders into the mix, but later on his LJ makes an entry "lost a skateboard the other night, hope I find it again"...

Yessss! He was trying to contrive answers to whatever questions might arise later. "She came over to borrow a skateboard (in case someone knew where she was headed that night and/or had seen them together and there was forensic evidence that she'd been at his apartment), we had sex (in case her body was found while there was still his DNA on her remains)". I think the car is the key. Where did he hide it for so many days and why? Why not just drive back to Richmond and park it in her usual spot as though it had never been moved? Did he take it to a car wash or to a car-detailing place? How has he accounted for the switch in license plates? If the car was in a "good" hiding place, why did he eventually leave it where he did? I don't know if Taylor's death was premeditated, but all of his actions/statements following her death certainly were carefully planned and thought-out.

Yep!
And PK's above post about BF writing in his LJ that he lost a skateboard, might be yet another planted though about Taylor, having borrowed his skateboard "that fateful night" and the possibility of her being abducted while she was using it, perhaps?

I think you are right but I think this occurred when she went to his place to borrow it ........ not after when she would have been using it.

I think she went to get her car (parked near his apt.) and ran into him...He probably invited her over to his place, and she went along to be polite, thinking she'd just stay a short while.
I don't think anyone else was involved.

Hi PK! :seeya:
I agree with you, as I don't believe anyone else was involved in Taylor's murder.
I just wish I knew the relationship between Taylor and BF. Some hasve stated that Taylor thought BF was creepy. Does that mean she shunned him altogether, or was she still friendly with him in a purely platonic way?
If she was still friendly with him, then Taylor might very well have run into him (perhaps BF saw her from his window since she usually parked her car near his apartment). BF might have invited her over and Taylor, knowing she promised to give her roommate some privacy, agreed to spend some time with BF.
However if, on the other hand, Taylor shunned BF, then a more likely scenario is that he might have abducted her. I tend to discount this somewhat, since the weather was still warm, with Labor Day weekend just finishing, so I would have expected someone to have noticed a struggle in the street.
