I read where the US Supreme Court has upheld lethal injection and that executions have been cleared to resume. I guess that means that RR time is getting closer. See web site below.

I actually mailed a letter to RR yesterday. I asked him about his family cause I am curious to know how involved they are with him over the last 20 plus years he has been on death row. It will be interesting to see what he says. Had a real problem writing him though. I felt like I was committing a terrible sin to contact such a person, but in the end I took it to the post office anyway! I'm sure it will take a long time to get a reply, but I'll let y'all know if I do.........

I had read his appeals ran out in 2006? They can still get appeals after that? I would guess if there were extremely unusual pieces of evidence, maybe, but incompetent representation would have been one of the first appeal efforts, and that seemed to have been turned down.

I'm not certain about his current appeal. Doreen would know. If he doesn't have an appeal left then I wonder what Ah-nold is waiting on, moratorium aside.

I don't think the governor is the one who sets the execution date. I'm not sure who does, but I think someone in the penal system. Besides, it seems he has to wait in line for actual execution---there's probably 100 or more of the 600+ in line before him. Send him to TX and get it over with, I guess.

Hi Doreen,

I am so glad you responded! I basically found this site out of pure curiosity. I have always been interested in mass murderers, serial killers and spree killers. I have done alot of research regarding personality and behavioral disorders and I found Richard to be very intriguing. I am only interested in how he is doing over all these years. I have never written anyone in jail before, not to mention, someone who is so high profile. I do think it is odd for me to do that and I am comfortable being honest about it. Please do not take offense with my candor. I would just hope to correspond with him without judgement. I think anyone who has been on death row for as long as he has deserves to talk if he wants to. I live on the east coast and the odds of me getting out that way are slim to none! I just wanted to respond to his penpal site and hope he will respond back.
I really am interested in how he is doing and what his appeal situation is. I also wanted to know if he still has contact with his familly. Maybe you can tell me that. I will always be curious about him as I'm sure many of us are.

But her disrespectful, cavalier attitude towards the victims, and the way she is so "amused" by the discussions of a serial killer (she calls him up in prison and they both get a real chuckle over something that someone said is under his armpit) - is just perverse, and not just IMHO.

Getting married and "getting your man" aren't necessarily the same thing. They may be married, but he's still as "single" as it's possible to be in San Quentin. He's not in the position to be physically unfaithful, but he does the best he can from where he is.

If someone you loved (husband, father, brother) committed atrocious murders, wouldn't YOU have the decency to at least feel some shame about it......rather than think of yourself as a "star" who finds it all so amusing?


I didn't realize that he was considered to be "sexy". He has (or had) and interesting face....was kind of intriguing looking at first, and that is what may have brought him the initial attention.

But what is "sexy" about a murderer...........and especially one who is dirty, smelly, uneducated, non-bright, unsympathetic, and shows no remorse?

People like RR are rarely just "born that way". A combination of genetic factors, mental illness, brain damage and childhood trauma can all cook themselves up into a deadly "stew" and leave the person incapable of doing anything BUT being a predatory murderer.

In that sense......perhaps it's not such a bad thing if, for once in their life, this person has someone who really cares for him and who tries to see the humanity beneath the acts - BUT, to have that cavalier attitude towards the victims that she has.........as if HE is more important than they are..........in just unconsciable.

I have watched things that had real pics of him, in the courtroom. Maybe it was the sickening tho't of him murdering innocent people that kept me from seeing him as sexy in any way. Even just watching, I wanted to throw up--like HE tho't he was God's gift to women.

Ya, I am a newbie. I posted a question couple of days ago about starting a new thread. This piece of excrement is on Death Row in CA and there was an article recently in one of the newspapers about how they are putting in bids to expand death row and how expensive it is going to be. It really pissed me off really bad! Why should he be allowed to appeal? There is no question that he committed the murders and was found guilty in a court of law. Why the **** should he (and all of them) be allowed to live one moment longer than necessary! And to top it off! We have to pay for these creatures of evil. Oh Man, it pisses me off to no end. I remembered reading something about her traveling with Carlo on a book tour and I found it. Hope this URL works. Wonder why she traveled with him since he was obviously promoting his book. Does that mean she read the book and was helping him promote or was it for the media attention?

She did, however, leap in to say adamantly that he never killed any children and it seemed beyond her understanding that each of the people he killed was somebodys child.

I can't wrap my head around it. Actually, though, I don't believe he'd kill her if he were ever suddenly pardoned. What is more perfect than a wife willing to clean your bloody laundry and then forget that she ever saw it?

Ofcourse, OJ did have the dream team! His high profile lawyers were the best of the best. Robert Shapiro, Johnnie Cochran, Alan Dershowitz, F.Lee Bailey, Barry Scheck(DNA expert) and Robert Kardashian(yes, the father of the girls from the famous Kardashian reality show).
Something must be said here about the people who have the money to buy a not guilty verdict!
However, Poor people should think long and hard before committing such horrible crimes because they will never have the money to pay for lawyers who are smart enough to make reasonable doubt such a possibility! Surely I jest.........justice was served with RR but not with OJ..:read:

I don't see how it can be possible for me to make you sad or mad when you are visiting a serial killer forum about Richard Ramirez. We all take advantage of our first amendment rights to freedom of speech and you certainly can expect to hear things you may not like. They were in the way of Richard? NO, these victims were at home sleeping and Richard broke into the homes to rape, kill and mutilate these innocent people.

Okay, Reena. Maybe I should take you at your word. You are just like Richard. You see, most (maybe all) of the rest of us have never seen or met any of the victims, but we do care. We empathize with the victims of crime. We can feel, in some small measure, the pain that they went through. We care about them and not their victimizers.

Richard Ramirez attacked person after person in order to inflict the maximum amount of terror and pain. The only thing that stopped him was that he was caught. And you know what I truly believe he does when he is alone at night? You are so right drummer man! I have often imagined what it would be like to experience the terror that one of Richards victims felt. Imagine waking from a deep sleep to a loud noise, only to find out that it was your husband having his brains blown out by a gun. Then you realize that someone is over you telling you to pledge allegance to satan or you will be killed. Then you have to experience being brutally raped and sodomized by someone with horrid breathe who is holding a gun to your head. But your reckless disregard for the fate of Richards victims is very difficult to comprehend. I'm sure if Richard has really received help and has changed that even he would feel remorse for what he did. Please don't confuse misunderstanding with disagreement and disgust. Empathy for others is what separates human beings from animals.

I don't know about the rest of the forum, but I enjoy hearing from Doreen and I don't feel like she should stay away from people who want to understand her husband. Hey I looked back on the part of this thread I had not already read, and I saw the posts by the person who says she is Doreen. She talks the same way as she does when I have seen her interviewed on TV. She believes that her dear Richard is innocent of the crimes he was convicted of, so how could he be "more than aware what he did?" According to her, he is not remorseful; he didn't even do it! You know Reena, I read something somewhere about Doreen being a freelance editor. I have seen her posts. She has perfect grammer. You seem to be the exact opposite of her. However, I have noticed that you are pretty good at putting your commas in the correct spots and using proper english that most foreigners have trouble with. Are you a teacher in Denmark with poor english or are you pretending to be someone you are not?

Interesting to note that Richard refuses to describe in the first person and speculates that this or that may have happened. Bundy refused like this as well and talked about his crimes in the third person. Never me or I, always the killer or he.

I wonder if he has ever mentioned any of the victims by name? They say a lot of serial killers refer to their victims as "it". As far as all this back and forth dialogue with Doreen and her friends go, what is the point in dispespecting each other? I just find it difficult to believe that they think he is innocent.

Hey Dave. I can't say for sure. If he did, he'd trip up his whole case. He did deny stating he was the "Stalker" to the arresting officer. You're right about the continuing debate, it's pointless. I'm just as befuddled as to how Doreen and company can fail to see his guilt and look past his lack of remorse.

I am wondering how he would know what the victims names were? He didn't know there names when he was killing them and may not have put a face to there names when he found out who they were in court.

It is very difficult to have dialogue with people who want to defend there beliefs. I like to talk to Doreen but her groupie friends are a bit extreme. Although, I'm not sure they are her friends. I think if Doreen were more open to differing opinions regarding her husband that it would be easier for us to learn more about him. I guess she just feels too protective and I guess it would be hard to defend yourself when so many believe he is guilty!

They know he is a killer but again, shaken their head as their mother and laugh, and resive happy Richards cool stuff to them:D and sending him cool stuff back...
