You have to scroll down some to see the information. There are addresses to send a card, flowers and letters of condolences as well.

I have always heard it called visitation or viewing. Normally there are photos to view when caskets have to be closed. JMO

I can't imagine that either. They referred to her remains in plural.. as in peices. :(

Where I come from (and I'm old :), viewing means that you will see the body, visitation usually means closed casket. But with so many different types of funerals these days, I think these terms might be commonly interchangeable....like everyone has said, I don't imagine there would be an open casket.

What a horrible nightmare for her family to have to bury their 17 year old child.

Well... since we can't go, my husband said that we could send some flowers to her service so i just got through ordering some roses. I wish i could do more. :( If i could bring her back to them i would. This has just really hit home for me, it's so awful. This young girl reminds me of myself when i was her age. :(

I'm planning to attend the viewing Thursday evening. Originally had planned to attend the funeral, but I think it will be a media circus and I'm not interested in seeing this played out like that. So hopefully I will be able to speak with her parents. I will convey everyone's sympathies if you like.

Ro - I'll be there Thursday and Friday. The media has been requested to stay away on Friday. I think they will respect the families wishes.

I'd go too if I lived close enough. I've been caught up in it. I care. It doesn't have to be "I'm going to gawk at people I saw on TV", it can be "I'm going to express my condolences in person".

No, no camera crews .. nothing more than a husband and daughter. That's all I'm taking.

Wow! Yes it does. And this is the lead off story on all channels here this morning but they are not saying that.

I believe that just the interment is private. Or so the obituary in the Post indicates. But to be on the safe side, I will call the funeral home this morning.

My husband and I were going to go since we live about a mile from the funeral home, but we heard on the radio this morning (97.1) that it will be private.

I just called the funeral home .. and asked if the viewing and funeral were open to the public. They said yes, it was.

If you still have questions, give them a call. I know how you feel about not wanting to go if you're not supposed to. But that IS what they told me.

I agree, if you are a local to the town, you have every right to pay your respects to Taylor and her family.

If it was "friends and family" only then it would have been stated in the paper, not for public viewing, by invitations only. I can understand the family wanting the public to attend. They were involved in trying to find her. I can also see them wanting the internment to be private. Just IMOHO

It makes me feel better to know that there are those who would honor this young girl's life, which was ended before it even started. It gives me faith that there are still good people in this dark world, instead of just the kind of people who would throw her out behind an abandoned barn like so much unwanted trash.
