Clicking on skulz' logo in deviantArt->"Due to a pending legal investigation, this page has been closed. We would also like to state that this user has never been affiliated with the management of deviantART, Inc." Here's a fascinating article by a man who not long ago stepped down as a volunteer and paid administrator at deviantArt in protest over "business practices and upper management conduct". His closing words in this article: "from what I've experienced, Taylor Behl and Adrienne Reynolds won't be the last time you hear the word "deviantART" associated with a murder case."

Love this line:

Fawley, who goes by the moniker "skulz", has an affinity for bones and skulls, listing "shallow graves" as one of his interests on Livejournal. Fawley has two children, and the idea that his computer housed images of a sexual nature involving one- and two-year-old children makes me want to put a bullet in his skull, but I digress.

That list of his interests on LJ was chilling. There were many more categories that raised my hackles as well.

DeviantArt was no stroll through the park either.
I realize + fully support freedom of speech, freedom of ideas, individuality, and so on, but some of the things that run rampid on the internet, blow my mind! That is -- that there are no safeguards or regulation of any sort. I know, impossible, but no limits at all? I don't agree with censorship at all, so I have no idea what the answer is, but good grief!!!
Thanks so much for posting this article.

It BLOWS MY MIND or BOGGLES my mind, whenever I look at these links!!! Where the he!! do these people/kids come up with all this CRAP?!! And the NAMES! Oy! I try not to obsess about what this world is coming to, and that my 10 and 7 year old are heading into this crap, but oh my Lord! I can say with MUCH emotion - if you are a parent, and you raise your child into adulthood with out them being abducted, becoming addicted to alcohol or drugs, and being productive adults - you have accomplished a MAJOR feat. And throw in a college degree, and that's BONUS points!! You deserve a pat on the back! And while mine are 10 and 7, I know my trials and tribulations are JUST beginning...and it really scares the ***** out of me if I think about it too much. Or read some of these websites!!

*needing a break from this world*

Between the pedos and this stuff, omg, I lost it! That is NOT me, I sat here in shock, what, did I really just think that?!

I agree! A few years ago when I was first married (now divorced), I had an online journal, called deadjournal.com (I got it free) and I did the "journal thing" for a few months, but I don't recall "pouring" out too much, like major details, more venting... but it's highly overrated and ANYONE (as you can see) can read this stuff. Geez folks, get an old fashioned notebook, you know the kind w/paper... not computer, and a pencil, remember those things... LOL

There are actually some "real" artists on deviantART. I used to play w/computer graphics and a lot of very nice artwork can be found there, as in drawings and paintings. These of course were the ppl actually making money at this though.

Yes, and I should have acknowledged that. I found some interesting things there as well. I'm not artsy, so don't always see the ooooh ahhh factor in a lot of things, but did run across some good work. It's more the "deviant" community, and the fact that young, some very young people are totally absorbed in it. Nothing wrong with having a taste for that sort of thing, but not so good I think to get totally wrapped up in it. It's probably more because of widespread news coverage, but it seems to me criminals are getting younger every day, it blows my mind how young some murderers are today. The whole attitude, I want it, I take it, give it to me now or I'll take you out ... well I just don't remember that from when I was younger. What has led to this? How has society changed? Is it trying to give our kids things we didn't have, save them from working hard to earn things that has brought on this attitude of it's my right to have whatever I want, as opposed to I really want these things, I'm gonna have to work my rear off to get them? I dunno. jmo
