Mathews County is where Erin Crabill is from.

Diggs, VA.

It's a place both Ben Fawley and Erin were intimate with.

Yeah. He mentioned going there with Erin.

I can't remember which one of his rants it was in; but he's talking about a memory with Erin and the time they spent out there.

According to Mapquest, it takes the time and distance below to go from Ben's house to Diggs, VA (Mathews)

Total Est. Time: 1 hour, 49 minutes
Total Est. Distance: 75.38 miles

NBC4 in DC is showing on their website a farm - on a country dirt road.

http://www.nbc4.com/news/5061616/detail.html#

He set up that 5:00 am timeframe for some reason - is that when he returned to Richmond? Is that when he was in Mathews?

I pray it isn't Taylor but it doesn't look good. I need to go home and cry.

I just flicked through all 70 or so photos at the linked photobucket site.....this guy was obsessed with this erin girl.
Quite a few of the photos are named for/with her...

There are quite a few re an abandoned house to which he
refers to then as "erin_abandoned" or something like that.
I wonder if thats the place the body has been found..

According to Pat Collins of NBC 4 Washington, investigators came upon this site based on photographs (want to guess from whom?).

A witness told of where they were taken (Erin Crabill???). And so, they found a body.

I read that blog where Skulz had talked about his porn contract with her and he's obviously NOT happy with her! Whatever. But I didn't realize he was saying his "attack" was supposedly her doing. What an odd case.

I was hoping for a better outcome to this..the only solace I have is that atleast if this is Taylor, her family has a body to bury.I don't live far from Mathews and that is a pretty deserted place when compared to Gloucester.I am thinking that this looks pretty bad for BF about now.Our weather has been pretty dry up here so maybe they can do good tire tracks tests and such.I wonder how her body got there..whose car?

The video footage being shown on Dan Abrams, MSNBC is of a remote area, with a farmhouse, outbuildings and a barn.

We can see a spot in a clearing where they've erected a canopy over an area which appears to look like a dirt road into a wooded area. There are red flag markers lining the dirt road.

I can't see that the area under the canopy looks "dug up" and there's been no effort to drape that area to conceal anyone from viewing it. Perhaps not the shallow grave site but location of some type of evidence they want to protect from the elements.

Still no press conference, but waiting.

70 miles east of Richmond is the location of the remote property where the body has been found.

They have found a body, that we know, but no information about whose body it is.

Richmond newspaper reports that police found the body after interviewing certain people about Taylor's disappearance. This was not an accidental find.

This is not a complete transcript. Many of the questions were omitted while I concentrated on the answers of the Chief.

Reading a statement Chief of Police

On today's date, the task force inveastigating the Taylor Behl disappearance.....was led to Matthews County, a location we determined need to be searched. We found the remains of an individual.

That scene has been secured, the FBI has come in and begun the task of collecting evidence and will process that scene.

At this time, we do not, I repeat WE DO NOT KNOW, who the remains belong to.

Yes, we have contacted Taylor's family and made them aware of our discovery.

During the past week, we have gone into a mode of searching locations we knew Taylor had visited, based on information, photographs..that's what led us here.

We can only say remains, how long they've been there, we don't know, the medical examiner was here to take an initial look. It's a very large scene, it will take quite awhile for that scene to be processed.

It's in a wooded area.

We have information that Taylor has been in this area.

We have contacted the property owner and obtained his consent to enter and search.

Some good investigative work, where 2 officers came down there on an investigative lead...VCU police officers.

The FBI is processing the scene.

The owners of the property are not related to Ben Fawley.

We will not know who or what evidence those remains present until the medical examiner makes that determination.

It could be a few days before we can make an identification.

It was not a tip, it was from the investigation, interviews, review of photographs etc.

The last photo being the abandoned house. I'm looking at the MSNBC live video taken from the helicopter. There's commonality in the galvanized roof of the house in the photo and those buildings I can see on the aerial view on tv.

There wasn't an aerial of the house which revealed the side of the building in the photo but I'd say based on the roof and the colour of the house itself, the picture and the area of the remains appear to be extremely similar.

A fresh body would seem to me to be one that has been deceased a very short time.

I was more taken by the term "remains of a body" that was used by the police chief earlier. May be he just speaks strangely, but when I heard that particular terminology I thought of body parts.

Fresh body is one that has not started to decompose or has only just started, ie, it should be in tact for the most part. Or it could even be very, very recent. If Taylor has been murdered, we don't know if it was that night or weeks later. Remember Jessica Lunsford, it was found that she was kept alive for over a week I think.

I just looked back at the Photobucket pics and saw that the abandoned house (in the Wallpaper album) has Erin's name in the title... just like the pictures of Mathews on the same album... all dated 15 May 2005. Knight Wood Road is where the body was found.

Thanks BFD..I saw a bit in the paper about it as well. I saw you had posted she lived there, thanks for relaying that. That was news to me reading it in your earlier post.

Jim Nolan is on Greta's show on Fox.

He said the police were not going any further than 10 feet away from the body. Trying to investigate the scene.

You think she has something to do with it ? Do you think he used Taylor to send a "message" to Erin?

Just speculation. I am catching up. very behind

I don't believe Erin has a thing to do with the crime..
It has crossed my mind that he might want to try to cause trouble for Erin.....

oh, got it! And there was the break in involved while they were at the jail, for questioning, or whatever, right?

I asked this on another thread, but I'll repeat here - if Erin "led investigators to a Mathews County farm" ....how are we sure she's not invovled? I can totally see BF doing all this to screw up her life, being as he is so angry with her - but then again....maybe she does need to be looked at too??

JMHO and ramblings...

:( I had hoped for a different outcome of this case but knew in reality something like this would happen. I believe BF knows exactly what happened to Taylor. If this is her body, I hope whoever did this horrible crime gets what they deserve! Does Virginia have the Death Penalty?

Previous articles have mentioned that Fawley's photographs led investigators to the house.

I imagine the police asked Fawley's associates to place the locations in the photos and Erin Crabill recognized her family's property.

VA has the death penalty and exercises it.

Yes, Virginia has the death penalty, although you need to prove special circumstances:

"To be eligible in Virginia for the death penalty, a criminal must commit a murder under one or more special circumstances. These circumstances include robbery or attempted robbery; rape or attempted rape or sodomy, or attempted sodomy, or object sexual penetration; abduction with intent to extort money; the killing of a law enforcement officer; a multiple homicide; murder for hire; murder while incarcerated; murder of more than 1 person in a 3 year period; drug related; pregnant woman; murder victim is less than 14 by an over 21 year old perpetrator. "

I believe, based on his blogs, he was obsessed with Erin but I think he mentioned that Erin ignored him/avoided him. I really don't think Erin has anything to do with her death. It sounds like Erin was through with Ben whether he liked it or not.

You got that right.

We use it.

I have no doubt in my mind that Taylor's mother will get her wish for the death penalty.

And the person responsible will most definitely die by execution, instead of old age in a prison somewhere.

Well, if Erin is innocent (and my belief is, she probably is) can you imagine the guilt this poor girl (woman) will feel? How horrible to know he killed an innocent girl and used her to get even. This could just as easily been have been Erin that was murdered.

But going along with that, I still have to wonder if BF worked alone or if Jesse was indeed involved (can't remember who alluded to that fact in a post a little earlier)? But my thoughts have always been, if more than one is involved, you can usually get them to turn on each other. USUALLY. Not always. How close are this Jesse and BF??? Jesse isn't under arrest at this time is he?

It appears that one of the special circumstances will need to be met before seeking the death penalty. BF said he had sexual relations with Taylor that night, so rape could be the special circumstance. Even if it can't be proven whether or not the sex was consensual, can statutory rape be claimed?

Good point - isn't she still 17? I think her birthday is this month? Or am I remembering wrong?

According to Taylor's mom's lawyer, the family believes the right person is in custody (Fawley), but they also are questioning whether he had help from Jesse or others -- especially considering the dogs tracked a scent from Taylor's car to the house where Jesse was staying.

Jesse was arrested on cocaine charges after the search of the house, but I believe he has been released.

I thought Jesse was arrested before BF on cocaine possession charges. My thoughts are that the 2 of them and possibly the 3rd skateboarder, were all hanging out and things turned bad as in gang rape, she was killed in the process and Ben knew where he could dispose of the body. He may have changed the plates before driving to Matthews just so the car wouldn't be recognized. But this is all just musings IMO in all that stuff

Yes - Taylor's 18th birthday would have been in a week - October 13.

Burying a child anytime of the year is horrible but burying your daughter within days of her birthday is so crushing.

This is the 2nd funeral (if not a private funeral) I'll attend this year where the deceased was 17-18. Just when these kids were really starting life it was snuffed out.

I knew Taylor when she was a little girl. A very sweet, adorable child. Janet is a great mother.

California might do well to follow the lead of your state.

I wouldn't cite Virginia's death penalty system as a model for other states. It has some serious flaws.

I don't live in VA, so I'm not acquainted with its flaws. But there is something wrong in CA, when known convicted murderers are on DR for decades, after having snuffed the lives of their victims.

IMO The one thing I can say about Virginia is that we don't drag trials out for months and months. We tend to move pretty quickly. IMO.
