New Clue in Disappearance of College Student
Updated: Wednesday, Sep. 28, 2005 - 3:04 PM
RICHMOND, Va. -- There could be a new clue in the disappearance of local college student Taylor Behl.
Richmond Police are asking the public what they know about a stolen Virginia license plate that may be connected. The plate is "GRN ERTH."
Police say the license plate was stolen, and placed on a different car. They want to know what kind of car, where and when it was seen, and possibly who was driving. If you have any information, please call (804) 514-TIPS.
Behl, a student at Virginia Commonwealth University, was last seen the evening of Sept. 5 when she left her dormitory room, taking only her cell phone, a small amount of cash, a student ID and her car keys.
The teen's car was found two weeks later, less than two miles from her dorm. Her license plates had been replaced with Ohio plates reported stolen several weeks before she disappeared.
Last week, police said they had several persons of interest in the case. Richmond police spokeswoman Cynthia Price says that now they have none.

Very interesting....skulz on his website had written about a website - vegporn - porn shots of vegetarians (it takes all kinds). He's very into the whole earthly, natural thing.....now a plate with GRN ERTH....connections, no connections????
This case gets more and more weird.

so GRN ERTH were Taylor's plates? Somebody went to a lot of trouble to change plates so I guess her car wouldn't be ID'd right away. Seems to me a perfect stranger wouldn't bother. They would just kill her and dump her body somewhere....and wouldn't care about what plates were on her car. At least, that's my opinion.

No, GRN ERTH were not her plates. One of the various news articles concerning the discovery of her car told what her plate #'s were, and that wasn't it - they were not specialty plates.
It will be interesting to know how the GRN ERTH plates tie into the case, if indeed they do. This whole case is just so bizzare...

Plus, I read on one of his blogs, someone wrote that he loved to steal road sings and license plates.
I am not sure that he is as off the hook as LE is leading him to think he is.
Jim Nolan wrote today that LE "said the plate may have been in the possession of Ben Fawley."
Why incidentally does one continue to collect license plates unless one is going to need them for some purpose? If Fawley no longer has a vehicle, what does he need them for? Surely not just to hang on the walls.
Fawley is in an isolation cell.

Actually, I bet he did hang them on the walls...did you see his apartment??? Have they searched Fawley's apartment again? I mean the one time they went in as far as I can tell, all they did was take the computers....have they searched the rest of the place?
Can't wait to see how GRN ERTH ties into this whole thing....

You got a good point though Murder. A stranger would not have bothered.
I just heard on the news this morning that they are focusing on Shockoe Bottom and the clubs down there for clues to missing TB. Either the newscasters got this screwed up or the Richmond LE doesnt know what they are doing. There are so many direct clues like the stolen car w/ stolen plates and the borrowed skateboard and TB's roomate saying she went to skate. What does Shockoe Bottom's club scene have to do w/ any of this! She was too young to get into any clubs, not to mention she doesnt look like the clubbing type. I would see her hanging out or going to parties before going to a club. And as far as BF and the other skateboarding guys she hung out with, I would say that they are even less likely to hang out in shockoe bottom... unless there is a good skating spot down there. Maybe the newscasters got it wrong and they meant shockoe for the good skating spots rather than the clubs. Who knows, but I really lost faith this morning.

hmmm....that is strange - let's just pray they know something we don't.... i have been to shockoe bottom a lot - and i cannot think of ANYWHERE there would be good skating there...this investigation seems so scattered to me. i want to know WHO called her cell at 9:45, and what about the boys she went to meet??? have they said IF she ended up actually meeting them? how long were they with her? where & when did they leave her? if they know who she met, which i was under the impression they DO - what are they saying??? anyone? have i just missed the answers to these questions? if so, could someone bring me up-to-date? i'm confuzzled....

Stolen Tag Has Possible Links to Fawly
On Wednesday, Police asked citizens for information regarding stolen Virginia personalized tags that read GRN ERTH. Police say the tags may be connected to Fawley, who though no longer considered a "person of interest," still remains a central player. There are several people with whom the police are talking in connection with the case.
The personalized tags were reported stolen, and the original owner of the tags has nothing to do with the case. Someone reported that they saw a car bearing the plates, and the police need to talk to anyone that has seen the car. The plates are believed to have been in the possession of Fawley at one time. Fawley collects license plates. The picture to the left was taken by Fawley and posted on one of his many online journal websites. (Click the picture to see an enlarged view.) _<<THERE"S A PIC OF PLATES MOUNTED ON WALL & CEILING>>
The following information is what the police need to determine if the plates have anything to do with Taylor's disappearance. If you see the car, make note of the information listed below, then call the police at (804) 514-TIPS. If you are able to safely call the police from a cell phone, please do so.
> what type of car was it
> any unusual markings that appear unique to this car
> where was this car seen
> when was this car seen
> who was driving the car (description, identifying marks, etc.)

Several points I would like to make are in the poster of Missing Taylor, it says she was last seen with a skateboard and the family lawyer on Greta's show said Tuesday, no skateboard was seen. WTH is with that? Two different statements.
If someone reported that their plates were stolen, would not they know what color the plates were? I would know if my plates were blue or green or had leaves on it. This does not make sense or are they just on a fishing trip? They said the tags were tied to Fawley so it seems they are building a case against him.
For Taylor and her mom....:rose:

The pic of Taylor w/the cigarette in her mouth was on her MySpace page. Did anyone else who has been to that page notice that her profile pic was apparently taken by BF, as there is another pic from his Deviant Art web page where she is wearing the same shirt (the DooWop Darlin shirt)?

On Greta's show last night, they showed a picture of the tags and they were the Jamestown specialty ones, with the ships (not the ones that are for 2007 anniversay)... not sure where they got the shot or if it's right but if so, would help in looking for the tag if it's out there.

News 4 in Washington just reported that police were looking for Taylor's cell phone, her skateboard, license plate, and clothing in Fawley's apartment based on the warrant.
They supposedly found several cell phones, a skateboard (probably the one that was in the window), and women's clothing [wonder if they were a size 5...:D ]....

Quote from the VCU website today (www.vcu.edu; click on alert)
It has been more than three weeks since Taylor Behl was reported missing. Today, Richmond Police announced that they are asking for the community’s assistance in providing additional information about Virginia personalized tag “GRN ERTH.”
This plate was stolen from a vehicle around the time of Taylor’s disappearance. She was last seen Sept. 5.
Anyone who may have seen the plate between Sept. 5 and Sept. 18 is asked to call the Richmond PoliceTip Line at 804-514-TIPS (8477).
So they don't think it's still out there? IMO they got a tip that it was on Taylor's car at some point, because 9/18 is when they found it...

So shouldn't the news agencies be provided with the actual photo of what the tag looks like?
Not a generic tag or a succession of possible background plates with the specialized plate GRN ERTH.
One more time the police goofed - in my mind. Their own website has nothing about it at all the last time I checked!
I thought it was the Jamestown Anniversity plate has that changed? I've been out of touch of any late news.

The bondage bed pic was too much! Poor Taylor. I doubt she had a clue what could lurk behind this strange guy. We only have the surface stuff on this guy so can you only imagine how twisted this individual really is deep down.
Sick. I am sure this Ben F hung out around the college just so he could prey on young teen girls. What a shame. Looks to me like he carried things too far. Wonder if any other teen girls have gone missing from that area in the past few years?

Among the items seized, which concern me, are the articles of ladies' underwear, machete, straps, chains, and the cutting of a reddish-brown stain from the box spring.

THE DMV WOULD KNOW AS WOULD THE POLICE WHAT THE BACKGROUND OF THE STOLEN GRN ERTH TAG WAS?
Defys logic why the Police have been so sloppy with their description of the tag! Spoke to my family police contacts - they all say it makes no sense! Should have released a photo of the tag to the media along with the specific information they were hoping to find.
Anyone????
I don't really understand why the look of the plate would have anything to do with it. GRN ERTH is GRN ERTH regardless of the tag's background.

Hi Lady!!!! :seeya:
Thanks for posting the link.
Excert from your link:
The personalized "GRN ERTH" Jamestown 400th Anniversary Virginia plate was stolen in Richmond about the time the 17-year-old disappeared, police said.
"This plate may be connected to the Taylor Behl investigation," said Maj. Peggy Horn of the Richmond Police Department. "At this time, we need additional information to make a final determination."
The person from whom the plate was stolen is not connected with the case, police said.

I wonder how that plate is connected to Taylor's disappearance? Was this plate used temporarily on Taylor's car until the Ohio plate was attached?

This may be old news to some but I found a post by Ben at deviant art. It is dated 9/8/05. It says the Nowhere van was retired in oct. 2003.
This is another Wheel cap from Nowhere Van #3. Painted with acrylic paint on an aluminum wheel cap. I had originally drawn the skulz logos on the caps using a marker in 1993 but that faded in time so on 13 October 2001 I hand painted each one. There are five wheel caps in this set and each one is different. I have photos of the wheel caps on Nowhere Van #3 @ [link]
The wheel caps are now on my wall as “art” rather than on a van as wheel caps. These wheel caps were on the nowhere van since 1993 with skulz drawn on them. I painted them since the drawings in marked kept fading out. Nowhere van #3 was retired in 2003 so the painted wheel caps were in use from 13 October 2001 until October 2003.

I hope all is well with you and yours! I kinda wonder if Taylor was seen in a car with that personalized tag.(though this tag is stolen as well)I read an article somewhere that asks if you happen to see the TAG and you can safely make a cell phone call to do so.I can't remember that link yet...but I found this quote from the news:Police asked anyone who sees the personalized plate on a vehicle to call police and tell them the make and model of the car, the time and place where it was last seen, and provide a description of the driver.
