Police in Macon, Ga., arrested a man Monday who allegedly doused his girlfriend with gasoline and set her on fire after she broke off their engagement. Jomekia Pope, a 29-year-old who has a history of domestic abuse, faces charges of aggravated assault and arson stemming from a horrific assault Sunday at his ex-girlfriend's home.

This just makes me sick. And mad as hell!! The articles say they are only giving this poor woman a 10% chance of survival.

This rotten ******* is pissed off because she is paying more attention to her daughter at the little girl's birthday party than she is to him. And because she broke up with him and wants him to move out of her house because of previous abuse. So, he pours gasoline on her and lights her on fire!

The poor burning woman runs an eighth of a mile to a neighbor's house for help, with this A-hole chasing after her and trying to refuse help for her from the neighbors! After she tells the neighbors that Pope did this to her, he runs.

What in the hell is the matter with people?!? This is just evil. In cases like this, my gut reaction is an eye for an eye! His punishment should be the same thing he did. Pour gasoline over the SOB and toss a match! :cuss:

Why can't this thread stay on the "Open Court" board?!? What in the heck are the parameters of "Open Court"? Isn't it supposed to be "whatever is on our docket"?

If I wanted to discuss it with the infinitely small number of posters who come to this board, I would have posted it on this board!

It seems to me that the difference between "General Crime" and "Open Court" is merely semantics. IMO, the decision of where a post such as this one should go should be up to the darn poster!!

That is just a horrific case to hear. Domestic abuse is horrible. That poor woman and her child.
I agree the SOB should get the same punishement. They are all cowards, he ran away when confronted, hopefully he will get his in jail.
The more I hear, the more I want to live in a secluded part of the country with animals.
