Thank you for the article. I would like to see a televised interview of him and hear what he has to say after all these years. Not that it would matter much to me, but I've never seen him on television, nor heard his voice.

I agree, I would love to see an interview with him! Glad to hear he has lost some of his cocky attitude.
I am so incredibly angry at this so called "human being" and his wife that took the lives of at least 3 people that we know of (Tammy Holmolka, Kristen French & Leslie Mahaffy).
It just angers me to no end that she devil is going to get out of jail...... and the best part is her new boyfriend is also an inmate, man I'll tell you she had better not set up house in my part of Canada, suffice it to say it wouldn't be a prudent move for her or her new criminal lover..........
I think that she should have gotten the death penalty, who would fatally drug and kill her own sister so her hubby could have sex with her sister and for a wedding present???? Honestly these people need to be followed hunted down and shot for what they did to these families, unfortunately, we as Canadians do not have that option, at least legally, because if there ever was a deserving duo paul and karla fit the bill, I mean who would drug her own sister, for her fiance to take advantage of, for his "wedding present"?
Not only that, now there are new reports of karla's sister Tammy's friends that had been drugged and sexually assaulted like Tammy was, and these girls are just now coming forward.
I pray that people will remember what happened to those girls that had everything in the world to live for...they just had the bad luck to come across, karla and paul, otherwise they would be happy health people today....don't ever forget the evil these two perpetrated. He was also the Scarborough rapist as well, and as such he terrorized so many people it's sick, how would she not know that he was the Scarborough rapist....i think that she must have if she offered her own sister and her sister's friends up to her "fiance" as sexual partners.
Never let your guard down people....she is as evil as they come, and I'm sure that it's not going to change soon....she had her chance to report that she and paul killed her sister for some twisted sex game they were playing, she chose not to and for that Kristen and Leslie, and God knows how many others had to die!
I cannot imagine her parents or her family taking her in for any reason after she killed not only her own sister but other innocent girls as well.....and her parents came to dinner when one of the girls were encased in cement in her basement.
There is absolutely no excuse for her behavior and she should be locked up for the rest of her natural life for what she has done.
I pray to God that I never meet her on the street....
regards all,
cat

Wow, very interesting article. I'm glad to hear that his conditions of living are that bad...that's what he deserves and I wish it would have been the same for Karla...

Did you see the contrast for the womans prison? Women really have it easy. Your knuckles are dragging on the ground again, my friend. :D
Seriously, it's comparing apples to oranges. He's been declared a dangerous offender. She has not.
There are many different kinds and levels of penitentiaries in Canada (some include healing circles) depending upon the nature and severity of the offense.
It's too simple a statement to say "women really have it easy" IMHO

I don't think it's because Karla was a woman, I'd say that AreYouSerious explained the reasons and I agree with him/her.

I don't know either Blue, but with the same conditions , same prison sentence, I would hope it would be the same for a man and a woman.

ok, I understand. :seeya:

If anyone has a link, I (and millions of others, I'm sure) would love to see it. :D

lol. I think you could be the worst Female murderer and that's the worst they can do to you. What's that? Let them dress up in lovely black dinner gowns and then only give them blue (ack!) eyeshadow? If I were locked up for the purposes of penitence, I'd consider that a fate worse than death!
But you have a point. I just haven't done my research. :D

LOl, a befitting throne for the King don't you think. Now he's "the master" of the 6x9

Not really. Karla was in medium security. Paul is in max. He's the dangerous offender. He's ten times worse than she'll ever be. He was raping and beating up his girlfriends long before he ever met Karla Homolka. Paul had always picked young maleable girls so he could tutor them in the sexual acts he preferred.

"Know what?" I said to my guide. "I would rather take a needle in the arm than live like that."
"Just be thankful," said my guide, "that we no longer have capital punishment in this country."
Love this excerpt.

I see her as a dangerous offender. Wonder why she wasn't classified as such.

It was the same at one time when the women were housed in Kingston Pen for Women and later when it closed some were transfered to a mens' pen out West. But the other sites they were transfered to are more like little cottages (Nova Scotia).
I've never been in the Kingston Pen for Men but I did go inside the womens' pen in Kingston back in the early 70's to play baseball against the prison team. It wasn't a pretty sight.

moo  My thoughts exactly. It's too bad the government thought that the Kingston Prison for Women wasn't habitable. I thought it was the perfect spot for Karla for the long haul.

Because of her deal. Remember her deal was made and she was already in prison serving her time when those tapes were handed over to the Crown by Paul's defense attorney so her full participation was not known until after she was serving her time. She was charged with manslaughter not sexual assualt.
The Crown only has six mos I believe after a guilty verdict to move for DO status. Paul committed many many rapes prior to hooking up with Karla. He is the Scarborough Rapist, he raped in Mississauga as well and St. Catherines.

All the penenteniaries are like that aren't they? you should see the ones out west and Dorchester in New Brunswick (the pervert prison). I thought P4W was closed because of what the guards did to the women or did that just spur it on. Have you ever watched that documentary P4W? It shows the terrible state of Kingston back in the '70's or early '80's I think it was.
