Yes, JudgeRT, I find this to be a VERY interesting case!!! The Blak Dahlia is the notorious nick-name for Elizabeth Short, mysteriously murdered in 1947 Hollywood. She was brutally beaten, cut, severed in half and drained of blood, then posed on a somewhat busy street corner. Her case has never been officially solved, but MANY theories have been offered.
Try reading "Severed" by John Gilmore, he's convinced he's solved it, either way, it's a rather complete account of the story. Warning: incredibly graphic photos in this book.
I just bought "Black Dahlia Avenger" by Steve Hodel, and have yet to start it, but apparently he's decided his father is the killer.
I think there are more books out there, try an Amazon search.
But yes, very interesting case indeed.

Hey, no problem  Happy (horror) reading! :read:
I've read both the books you mention - they are both pretty good. I'm just not convinced either way, really! Lots of contradictory information out there, too, although I think if you read the later books some of is has been cleared up. You're right about the graphic photos... can you imagine how it would have been to be the one who found here there like that? Geez... things like that didn't HAPPEN in 1947, at least not right out in the open...
I feel the same way. Hard to decide for sure. And those photos...yikes, it's like once you see them, you can't UNsee them!!!
I've yet to finish the Hodel book, but I found the 48 Hours Mystery documentary covering his theory rather intriguing. After reading Severed, I was sure Gilmore was right, but on further investigation, not so sure...it DOES seem like a Dr. would have to have done this. I need to research more! :read:
